Pair Galvanised Wishbones

Postby Jeemy » Thu 30.10.2014, 17:10

Have a set for sale.

Pic enclosed.

From memory, £750 was asking price for a set of second-hand stainless ones, new galvanised are about £500 each, so I am thinking about £550 the pair?

Happy to accept offers as I don't know what these are worth, need to sell to cover costs of finishing my on-road car, these are from the donor.

Good condition as you would expect, metal excellent, just a bit dirty. Bushes seem OK for old bushes but I don't really know how to test.

Unable to upload files at the moment, some kind of forum error, but PM me and I will send over a pic.

I sold my pair of used stainless steel wishbones for £380

I paid about £250+ VAT for a new galvanised wishbone (Lotus) with new bushes when they were available.

They are still available new, at something horrific like £600 per SINGLE wishbone now from FGS.

I would take less but I have parts to buy myself which are similarly inflated! So I have to sort of exchange in kind. Don't see it getting any easier.

If they were around for £250/£380 I'd have bought. The whole wishbones issue cost me years in the same fruitless investigations everybody has been through. I've ended up following dave pink's path, pics soon if I can ever upload them.

The Lotus ones are no longer available, the FGS ones are fabricated by themselves and are not OEM. As the original equipment is no longer available the price they were is merely a guide to the past and no indication of what yours are worth, I was merely trying to shed what little light there is on the subject and not suggesting a price for you or value for your parts for sale.

Personally I would prefer your 2nd hand Lotus parts to the FGS part but they are a bit out of my price range at the moment. Unless you need any bits I have?

Yes and his website with the ambiguous and wildly unsubstantiated claim to have sole rights to reproduce lotus parts.
I spoke to him once and that was enough for me not to do it again.

All the remaining bits I need are custom bits mate. Still to pay for my interior, intercooler, wheels, tyres.

I had the same experience with Miles.

Pic was of course not enclosed as I have been unable to upload attachments for a long time. Still am not.

I've now finished my website, just need to upload all my parts to it, but its working after 7 months of effort.

So the pics are hosted there, here is one:

Image

If you wish to buy these, they are now going to eBay and are on my site for £625.

Using the code lecm100disc will get you 20% discount taking them back to the £500. Select Local Pickup and I will ship them free if bought before the auction ends in 10 days or so.

Link to buy is here: http://specialistvehiclesolutions.com/p ... ones-pair/
