Others may weigh in but my understanding is that the engine and transmission is straight out of an Isuzu Impulse RS Turbo, so long as it has the 1.6 liter engine, I know they made a 1.8 Isuzu block too.

Try http://www.sjsportscars.co.uk
They list all the clutch parts both Lotus and non Lotus.
Centre plate, pressure plate or kit.

Guess Paul Matty will also sell them.

RockAuto has 4 brand choices for the "1991 ISUZU IMPULSE 1.6L L4 Turbocharged", but do not have any clutch listings for the "1991 LOTUS ELAN 1.6L L4 Turbocharged" - I'd be interested in commentary from those experienced with the clutch replacement.

RockAuto has a UK website, including Español language choice and price choices including Euros (the US site has those choices also) - the clutch kits are under the "1991 ISUZU IMPULSE 1.6L L4 Turbocharged : Transmission-Manual : Clutch Kit" section.

I'll look forward to that with interest :D. The feel of my left pedal makes me anticipate needing a replacement in the not so distant future if I want to keep driving the way I prefer. :burnout:

Good morning!

Well, it was pretty straight forward actually!
Although I never replaced a clutch before, it was easy, be it time consuming. I only forgot to lubricate the central shaft with the supplied (heat resistant) grease. But no problems yet (The shaft was very, very clean) and operation is silk-smooth.

In the end I went for the Edimax clutch-kit from Rockauto.

Detailed questions, please fire away!
