I took this off and swapped it for another model which I liked more and since then this has been gathering dust in the garage. I believe there were 50 of these made and this is stamped number 46
I have tried to find the Group buy posting but to no avail so haven't a clue how much it cost originally but wondered if anyone was interested in buying it, I'm not looking at making anything on it just recouping the cost of the replacement which was £20. Drop me a pm if interested.

I have no. 49/50 and can supply some background info. This Group Buy was offered in 2006 or 2007 and were they made in a limited edition of 50 (plus a few prototypes, some of which were later offered for sale). The older Group Buys seem to have disappeared from the site, not sure why - perhaps one of the admins could say? From what I remember, it was one of our USA forum members who had them made. They were offered in a variety of different colour schemes (I have two, one the same as yours and one in red). They arrived well packaged, with a variety of seal thicknesses so you could select the right ones to ensure that the wording positioned exactly square to the front of the car when the cap was screwed on - brilliant attention to detail! I have one big problem with mine: they are such beautiful works of art that I could never bring myself to put them in my car - they are on display in my study!
Regards
Mark/.

I've been trawling through the forum and found out a little bit more: the group buy was in 2006 and was organised by
F1 LOTUS , but for some reason the thread is now not accessible - I think it's this one:
http://lotuselancentral.com/forum/viewt ... &start=120referred to by F1 LOTUS at the bottom of this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7818&hilit=shineyThat is now the only mention I can find on the forum - shame, there were some great pictures!

Mark/.

Dropped you a PM this afternoon Rob. I'd be interested in it.
Hope that you got it.
Never saw the original sale of these items. Great history of It Mark. Didn't the LEC suffer a catastrophic crash several years ago? Maybe this is why / when it disappeared.

I have no. 50/50 and Brian (Barham) kindly allowed me to get the last of the production run. It's been on my car ever since I received it

Correct Wayne. That was in the pre-backup days though.
It was USD60 in September 2006 which was about 30p in those heady days.
