Having been watching values over the past few years do I finally note an upwards trend in asking prices? It may only be top notch cars or dreamers that are lifting the prices but there will be a knock on effect on all values if this is true!

He wants rather a lot for this SE doesn't he ? £10,489 ! Looks a nice car and low mileage, but advert is a bit sparse of information to back up why he wants so much. Think I've seen it up for sale before. No wonder it hasn't sold at that price.

It has been taken off and an Excel put in its place. I suppose on a dark night wearing a gas mask they look similar?

I would rather see a picture of people cleaning the inside of the car than see an actual picture of the inside of the car !

Well, according to the DVLA website it's green...

...when he says it's been painted "Matt Yellow" and looking at the pictures, it looks nearly white, I'd hazzard a guess that it may well be primer :? :?

With 13 previous keepers, and the mileage stated, I think he's perhaps a little hopefull in getting much interest at the starting price....

...of course, it could well be okay for someone, but I'd only consider it if I knew the car already, and could get some provenance of the work that has been done to the paintwork - if it was done well with a view to a re-spray it could be a real bonus, but if it's just been squirted over the previous (crappy?) paint, then it's more trouble than if it was just left alone.

All in all, not one I'd look at.

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

Well at least they've dropped the price by £55.00 from this and posts 3 - 7 are relevant

AND.............. you still get the BRG mirrors :bonk:

AND.............."I just dont drive her and shes covered up or winter," so why has the mileage gone up from 174,500 to 178,000 since the end of August? (I suppose it's better than going down  )

regards

The elan has had these parts removed by the previous owner, callipers all round, engine, gearbox, driveshaft's turbo, front bumper. There may be other parts missing.

bough the elan because I needed a roof and this one had a good one so I put my old roof on to this one as pictured with the tear in.

£500. Easy project.

Maybe, for those like me without a shed full of bits, add in £2k worth of parts and you might then be able to cost the project on to the road with more confidence. But for those who have a load of parts laying about it might be very tempting.

an engine is not too expencive, for a project you can end up with a pretty good deal of a car, but the kind of work required is not light duty.. even if i had the cash to tacle such job i dont have the tools required for such task

This is more kind of project car.... Now that the listing has been corrected and now advertised as a car for sale and not a wheel nut :D
Pity the steering wheel is on the wrong side for me

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/lotus-Elan-SE ... 4d2a0355d5

Not many project cars come with all the bits needed to repair the car. And a lot has already been done. Lots of new parts already fitted. Paint work looks rather good too.

Seats look like they could do with new covers and I'd love to know the story behind the passenger door??

Hope it goes to a good home.

all depends on how much work you need to do to call it a project car, when i got mine it didn't need anywhere near that amount of work but i stil consider it a project, even tho its on the road now i still don't consider it anywhere near finished.

if there was someone near me that bought it i would happily help fixing it up, but as far as im aware the closest LEC members to me are around 60 miles away.
