I am totally confused. first of all I am told by my mechanics that we most probable need the air intake on the hood to direct some extra fresh air to the Cold Air Intake. On the other hand, the ones that I have tried didnt please me aesthetically. Thank God, You guys really helped me decide not to install em but I have to pick which ones to install!

Please those are my solutions, I need your opinion because I am scared of making a freakin aestheticall mistake by adding the intake on the hood.

The idea that Marrie introduced was very warmly recieved and is considered as well to be done. Only thing is that I dont want under any circumstances the Sh4rk to have any bit of looks as a Z3.

Highly inacurate... (hopes Costas doesnt take too much offence)

Image

Breast badly cloned out. Vent #2 in 2positions. I've tried to edit the vent so that emphasise that the only bit you will notice is the recess and hole. Also recoloured as a big red vent doesnt help either.

When I took some temperature measurements under the hood it appeared that the turbo / intake hose / filter box receives cool air and doesn't rise much above ambient whereas at the back of the engine bay the temperature rises steadily to over 160F and higher if speeds are low then it takes a long time to normalise to 160-ish, so I would think the issue is getting the hot air out and not trying to stuff more in? I would favour venting the rear corners of the hood???

I now believe that this is exactly the case, Marrie put me first in thoughts but now with your data feedback its more than obvious.

I am dropping the air intake issue and will only focus on venting the hot air out of the engine bay, and thats only if proved to be needed. So far the car body remains as it is.

Thx all for your help

The NOS installation is progressing while other many minor jobs are done such as fixing the door windows etc.

Some photos from todays work.

First of all we tried to figure out whats the best solution for installing the NOS switches on the dashboard. We got 3 of them, 1 for purge valve, 1 for NOS Bottle electrovalve, and 1 for NOS beck on-off. Several problems such as knocking the on-off switch safety cap when pushing the gear knob to 3rd had to be resolved.

This one has the On-off switch and the purge button while the electrovalve switch is at the rear next of the bottle.
Image

This one has all 3 on it
Image

The NOS bottle at last FITS at the rear of the seats!!!!
Image

....when your foot is "heavy"
Image

The RPM Activated Switch for each gear seperately
Image

Final day of Sh4rk project is this Saturday, and this time IT IS FINAL DAY! ;D

Costas I applaud you fitting the NOS bottle where you did, but you do know you'll have to remove it everytime you need a refill, right? I am wondering where I'll put my purge-solenoid switch too. I don't like the big blue button that came with the kit so I picked up a chrome "starter button" at the auto-parts store today. I'll install it by drilling through the last remaining blanking-plug, like I did for the remote bottle opener (You might wanna consider one of these too. Watcha gonna do if a bigger shark comes swimming up & your bottle is closed?). Have really enjoyed looking at all the pictures, thanks.

I have considered it ;D I installed a switch for the NOS Bottle electrovalve which I think you call remote bottle opener. if you notice on the picture with the 3 switches it is there (the horizontal switch with on-off sign on)
OK Doug, is this satire, an invisible link, or have you had a party with your friendly aneasthetist?

At last tomorrow is completion day!

All thats left is installation of NOS instruments.

Today I drove the Sh4rk for 50 miles and the feeling was incredible, I had a smile allover my face all the way. I need 1000s of words to comment my first experience, instead tomorrow I ll post pictures and if I am allowed to by the FTP owner, I shall upload videos of the Sh4rk running within next week.

All I can say is that every little mod we did of every aspect of the car is 100% succesfull so far and I dare to say its even more succesfull from what I expected.

Nothing can describe how it goes, I hope I ll make it to Dony and witness it with your own eyes.
