Door windows

Going to overhaul my doors and have done a wee bit research before doing so on the central site and also the lotus manuals.
I see that the glass on early models had slider blocks and later models bobbins I wonder are they inter changeable or do I need to stay with blocks if available if thats what's on my car ? Mine is an early SE Any help is appreciated

as far as i understand it, all elans have slider bocks (which run in channells and guide the window up and down), and all elans have bobbins (which are used to stop the windows going too far up, and support the windows when closed). As such, they have different functions, and both are required.

Thanks shows my ignorance of the internals would have found out when in door but will get parts ordered now and replace them as well as speakers etc hopefully done once and last a while Thanks both

You may also want to order the 'butterfly' and the main slider, as these are often the cause of window problems

All this assumes your window motor itself is in decent shape (mine wasn't). I was lucky to find a good one from a car being broken up as I hear they are VERY hard to find these days.

Just a little tip....
you may find the sliders are a little sloppy, due to the small pieces of tube.
I found a section of washer tube fitted and made the window much tighter, just be careful not to overdo it.
