I'm from Wakefield and those photos aren't taken in Wakefield either. I've not seen that car driving around, I'd have spotted it I'm sure.

no offense but i think if you lived in stafford but not on my street you would probably say the same, specially if you lived in the north side of town. cus my elan never got anywhere near that side of town.
what im trying to say is if the car is kept in a garage and only used once in a while you would probably never seen it.

Yeah, you're right. Not a very well thought out comment really. If it's anything like mine only the next door neighbour will ever see it.

just saw the Kia Elan on ebay again.. It's at £5995 with 5 days to go. Although the last bid pushed it from £4200 to £5995

Absolute scam, feedback alone shows that to be the case. Report it to Ebay.

Does that mean that the last bidder put a bid in over the reserve amount? There's no bidding activity to take it from £4200 to £5995, no automatic bids?
Are there any other Kia Elan's on these shores that we know of? Maybe someone thinks this is a unique enough car to warrant that bid?

if im not mistaken if you want to pirchase kia parts (rear lights) you will need a working VIN plate. i can see the usefullness of owning one of these (on a contraband level) but still nowhere near worth the bidding value

Since you are presumably north of Hadrians Wall surely the phrase is "Knobdobber" not "Tosser". But thanks for translating it into my native tongue.
Unless of course Tosser means something else on LEC? It must do as this is a forum for mature, sensible and courteous Lotus enthusiasts all seeking greater enjoyment and understanding of their prized automobile as well as helping and encouraging those new to ownership with their extensive knowledge and insight. Such a word, in its common meaning, would surely be out of place in such company.
Please enlighten me.

Andy,
Knowing Mark (Rambo) as I do, I'm sure that he was agreeing with you about the seller of said automobile and simply adding his own "North-of-the-border" spin on it, rather than directing his comment/s towards you. Although I have to admit, it's easily misread.

Took me ages to find out what BOLLECKS meant so I was concerned there might be another meaning to TOSSER. I've read enough of Marks posts to know he has a good sense of humour so I'm not at all offended whether it was directed at me or not.
With reference to the LHD Lotus "Lambo" Elan I did complain to ebay that it fundamentally broke their own guidelines over item description by calling a Kia a Lotus even though many of the parts are shared. It would still be on the V5 as a Kia and insured as a Kia. Needless to say they have done nothing about it but then they rarely do unless they could somehow see themselves losing money.
Do those rear lights exist somewhere as spares in any reasonable quantity or were they made purely for the Kia Elan and are not shared on any other Kia? Did Kia make them or did Lotus make them to Kia's design. I'm concerned because a 17 year old went into the back of my car and broke the bumper and light but thankfully I managed to get another from SWL that matched. However it took a long time to find it and I'm dreading it happening again.

They're Kia only I believe, and it's a bit of a case of "grass is always greener", with some Lotus owners preferring to change to the Kia ones and vice-versa.

Andy (Artaban) - I feel I owe you a direct apology anyway. I can see how my reply could have been misread and misconstrued but it was not intended to be an insult to yourself. It was directed at the seller of the yellow Kia
Neil (Enright) does indeed know me better than most and, you too, have also picked up on my occasional gung-ho banter/sarcastic sense of humour
Apologies again. None intended and I sincerely hope none taken ?

I wouldn't worry about what MacAffro says, he is just a closet hairdresser, tosser
as for the avatar that was Rambos from Donny 2004, Pantz avatar was a bikini bottom spread round a bonnet badge, well time for bed now.
