2) with a punch - butcher the bearing seal and pluck this out in bits = free's off a bit of space behind the circlip - soak in lub oil
3) with a flat punch - tap tap tap the circlip around the circumference - more lub oil - work away at this for 5 minutes
4) add some closing tension to the circlip via circlip pliers and continue to tap tap ( you can do 3 things with two hands
)5) once you get the circlip ends to start moving - put in a thin screw driver in the gap to hold the tension = you can now tap without also holding the circlip pliers
6) circlip will come out
7) be brutal and remove the bearing inner race
8.) with a welder ( TIG preferably) blast the inside of the bearing outer shell at 2 / 3 places loads of heat pulling in the weld pool from the bearing material - don't add metal and don't let the weld pool penetrate through the shell
9) bearing shell shrinks and it will now pop out with a drift easy peasy
- they need to be on the wedding list, above kettles, toasters and dishwashers
is always more fruitful than permission, albeit more painful at the time
