IWM Duxford Spring Car Show - Sunday 3rd May

It's that time of year again and I'd like to extend an invitation to all our Elan friends to attend the Spring Car Show at IWM Duxford. The popularity of this show has grown year on year and last year we had well over thirty cars on show.

A big bonus here is that when you've looked round all the car displays you can then view all the aircraft on show and yes they do have a Concorde as well. Often the workshops are open so you can see restorations in progress. There's a large cafe in the American Air Museum and if you'd like to see things from the air you can book a pleasure fight with Classic Wings on the day. There's usualy a few trade stands selling car valeting products at good prices as well.

The cost is £10 per person (£5 Children under 16) payable on the dedicated entrance gates.

The quicker I get an idea of numbers the better as this will allow me to gain more space, hopefuly if we put on a strong show we can keep our current position and extend in to the area occupied by the Porche Club last year.

Pacific Blue SE, probably last SE out of Hethel. Can have Kurching hardtop on from other PB 91 SE if you want something different or may have a blue hood by then, if I get round to fitting it.

Hi All,

Duxford is this Sunday 3rd May. The final details are as follows.

Firstly please read and understand the following information from IWM Duxford and remember I've signed these on your behalf:

In particular note the requirement for oil drip trays if your car has the odd leak and is likely to soil the grass.

This year the dedicated entrance gate on the A505 will be open from 9.30am till 2.00pm and the entry cost is £10 per person and £5 for Children under 16. Gate 1 is where you need to enter and this is marked on the attached map below, note this is NOT the general public entrance it's much further down the A505. We've not been given an indication of where we will park this year, but in previous years it's been pitch number 8 on the map. When you arrive please say you are with the Lotus Forums and the marshals will direct you to the correct area. If you arrive before me please stay with your car just in case we need to move things around and those of you who need to leave early need to make sure you're in the front row. You can leave when ever you want but please watch your speed and take care as there will be crowds everywhere.

Hoping to join you at the Birchanger stop on the way (before 0930) - don't wait if we're not there though.

I'm tackling the inlet manifold on my M100 today, if it's done you might get both the Plus2 and M100 on its test drive.

Looking forward to it, forecast didn't look too ropey yesterday, but I have a towel for the knee if required.
