1830 Meet at Jim Clark Memorial Clock Tower in Chirnside for short drive to Eyemouth for Fish and Chip supper at a quayside restaurant.

SATURDAY
1000 Static display of Lotus race cars outside Jim Clark Room in Newtown Street
1100 Jim Clark Room Film show starts (venue nearby TBA)
12.30 Lotus road car run to Charterhall (Closed event). Press and photo shoot
1600 (onwards) Drive to Chirnside Parish Church
1715 Short outdoor service and laying of wreath at Jim Clark’s grave
1730 Disperse for overnight accommodation to prepare for dinner. (See below for dinner and accommodation details)
19.00 for 19.30 Dinner at the Chirnside Hall Hotel hosted by Club Chairman Alan Morgan. Also at the dinner will be eminent attendees from previous Jim Clark Weekends, including Clive Chapman, Bob Dance and Doug Niven and Ian Calder from the Jim Clark Trust. Guests will be brought up to date on the latest news from the Jim Clark Trust of which Club Lotus is a partner.

SUNDAY
1000 Newtown Street closed to traffic. Pits and barriers set up. Display of Lotus race cars set up outside the Jim Clark Room and selection of Club Lotus members’ road cars on display along Newtown Street. Display dedicated to Jim Clark in the Library opposite set out by Curator Andrew Tulloch
1100 Coffee in the Black Bull (optional)
11.30 Scottish Pipe Band will display and march along Newtown Street
12.00 Demonstration of Jim Clark Lotus race cars begins. Film show starts (venue nearby TBA)
1315 Race car demonstrations runs stop. Pits and display area reopened to public
1330 Public address outside the Jim.Clark.Room. Club Lotus Chairman Alan Morgan, will introduce triple F1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart and triple Le Mans Winner Alan McNish. Announcement by Doug Niven of the exciting future plans for the development and expansion of the Jim Clark Room
1415 Demonstration of Jim Clark Lotus race cars restarts
1530 End of demonstration runs. Pits and display area reopened to public
1600 Event closes
1615 Depart Duns via A6105, B6456 and A697 for break in the Carfraemill Hotel at junction with A68

If you can guarantee it will be more comfortable and less of a health hazard than sleeping on a student's sofa in a flat in Meadowbank, you're on.

Staying over on Saturday night is what I thought, so that I can see a bit of the Saturday stuff and a bit of the Sunday before heading north.

If there's a pub in the village I could even buy you a pint.

I can guarantee that Jock's dog bed is probably more hygienic and comfortable than a student's gaff. But we can do better than that. You can even have your own room with fresh sheets on the bed Or you can sleep with Jock if you really want. He is very clean and doesn't snore as much as me

We are about 39 miles from Duns x country - lots of twisty roads and nice scenery There are about 7 pubs in our village, but only about 3 which are ok

I will pm you contact details in the next few days if you like the sound of this rather than the Meadowank dosshouse

Mark, is there room at the Inn on Sat for another body, if so I'd consider it, if not, nae worries. Couple Sat night ales with you and John ....

Weather for Sat in Duns,....light shower at 1300. Sun,......dry all day. On the cool side at 12C both days

I'm decorating so will miss Blowness tonight. As for Duns i'll be flying solo. I'm sure there will be lots of attractive young ladies to talk to in the Innerleithen pubs on the sat night, they'll be mightily impressed with my modern sportscar

I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the inviation, Mark and for the pm - I'll reply after I've made dinner.

I'll probably spend Saturday afternoon in Edinburgh with my son and then amble down to Innerliethen in time for tea (I trust it's not the Edinburgh "you'll have had your tea". We should have a bit of a convoy or Sunday and then I'll head off from Duns when the fun finishes around 4pm for the long trip back to Aberdeen (I hate the road between Dundee and Aberdeen - boring and speed cameras every couple of miles so you have to be constantly looking at your speedo instead of the road).

Hi John,

I'll be staying in Duns this weekend (my girlfriend lives in Duns) so will be around for most of the events hopefully. It will be good to catch up - I think the last proper run I did with the group was the Museum of Flight 5 years ago. Of course, I no longer have an Elan so I will be trying to blag passenger rides from folks instead

Guys - looks like there is a special area for 35 selected Lotus cars of all types. And we're not in it Any extras might be included in the overspill area but general parking for the plebs is at the High School. I might be able to blag a space from Andrew Laing in the official area so could take a pax if required
