rockauto Water pump and belts

There isn't any pictures of each unique part. Lotus just added the info to make the small bits easier to get. You might be right that that is the slider clip that holds the injector to the rail. I am sorry for confusing the issue.

I found some once before on eBay and they were for a Datsun or Nissan. I am looking for the link

Hi Everyone.

although i've dropped out of this group buy, i can confirm that the airtex water pump (part number AW9220) is the correct type with rounded teeth. i received mine today, with timing belt kit by dayco (part number 95169K1S).

hope this eases the minds of people who may be worried about the wrong water pump being supplied.

I hope not - if you read the Wiki, this is NOT the correct part for an Elan (but is correct for the Impulse) - you need the 37" one not the 38" one..... (I bought the Continental/Goodyear ones [#4060370])

Mark - yep, it was on the original list, and I didn't notice any problem when I put my name down.....

....it was only when Pete needed his sooner so I ordered for him, me and your hairy bristolian brother that i looked at part numbers and options.

It was at that point that i saw the discrepancy (as it was a different part to what I had ordered a few years ago) so I checked what I had on the car and then (eventually) looked at the Wiki.

I notified Dave L by PM as soon as I realised that the Impulse part was apparently wrong for the Elan.

That said, I'm not sure what difference an inch makes in practical terms (ooh, err, missus!) - and there *may* be enough room to fit it all (or it may be that to get it tensioned, the PAS pump hits the clamshell - there must be a reason Lotus spec'd the shorter one????

The 2 I got here are the correct ones - that was the only reason i got involved at all - i had one from the last GB on the shelf, but it has the square teeth (which I never noticed at the time until the issue came to light), and it was always on my "must get another one sometime" list..... I don't need one at the moment (mine was replaced not too many miles ago), but will do when i re-build the spare engine, so may as well get it all ready......

Dave many thanks for the PM and adding it here, I'm scared whatever I order we get some that are wrong. For that reason I'm going to cancel the group buy and just get my stuff from SJS as I did last time unless someone wants to pick it up.

Steve at SJS is willing to do 25 sets of Cam belt, Fan belt, Power steering belt, Water pump, Idler pulley, tensioner for £3690 ( belts for non aircon and aircon will be same price) including postage to one person which equates to £147 each plus post out to each individual a saving of £1080 off list but I don't have the money to do that at present. He could also post out to individuals but they would have to pay the postage separately.

My apologies for the delays and mucking you about but I didn't think it would get this big and I don't have the finances to cover the risk over getting a bunch of pumps that don't fit.

Notwithstanding the above, I have just returned from my garage and seen the mechanic just finalising the pump and Cambelt change using the kit that Dave Pink provided as per the above so can confirm the compatability of these components.

Rambo the rockauto price didn't have the idler or tensioner included before and if it's £77 and the pump is no good I'm stuck with a bunch of them or worse still a bunch of us are.
