No, I have much bigger fish to fry!

Do you have:

1. Rear Top Links (I'm rusty on the NSR).
2. Do you have any Bushes for the same?
3. Do you have a Steering Pump, I need some numbers off it so I can see if there are other types out there (surely someone has already checked) in order to get mine fixed or replaced.

Obviously, you will now realise that I shall be in the Jag tomorrow night (pushing it now to be ready for Castle Combe on Sat :o )

Pete,

Unfortunately I can't help with any of those :(

My car had new rear upper and lower bits just before I got it, so haven't needed to replace them - just painted 'em

I did have a spare PAS pump but gave it away to another member a few years ago (not the tall ginger bloke, this time!).

That's ok, thanks

New top links are available at SJs if I want to pay £100 each side (they are of a new tubular design), there are a pair on eBay for which I've made an offer and, I need to check numbers, but bushes seem to be on the after sales list so that may be the solution. Chief concern is in their removal, given all the wear and tear of 20 odd years something is bound to break.

As for the steering pump, it's obviously been dripping for a while so it'll just have to do so for a little longer!

Pete,
if all you need is to see the pump, i got a spare one that i intend to fit next week, i will take it along for you to see.

Dave,
any chance you have a spare battery plastic cover ? (not high in my priority list anyway)

John,
Are you bringing the elan ? i would like to have a look at the boot release and struts you fitted recently. i got a solenoid already, but if i can get a close view of a fitted system i can consider all factors related to installing mine.

Thanks Joao, if you could stick it in the boot please, Id like to take a look.

It transpires that there is a refurb kit for the pump, (BCN pointed me in the right direction) quite cheap too, and I also managed to get the two Rear Top Links that were on eBay at a good price.

This car is going to leave me skint but there are things I must do before I ship it out!

Shouldn't that be car boot sale?

Pete, I've replied to your PM - but it must be an old post 'cos I replaced mine which were worn (unless it's a specific bit which has just confused me!)

Well, another great evening yesterday - excellent turn-out. Lots of items seemed to be changing hands in the car park, and a couple of bits even made it into the pub.

Thanks John/Martin for getting this going (I can never remember who started it and developed it, but it was down to you two!).

When an above post suggested that it was "Less of a regional meet....." it certainly is getting that way - seemed more of a "National meet" last night.

My only 'problem' was the M42 being closed from Hopwood park to M5, and the diversion signs were okay for the first 2 miles, then i came across an 'End of Diversion Route' sign........ but it was in the middle of no-where - usually they are on a main junction with signposts and things!!

Still, with the instincts of a homing pigeon i got to somewhere i recognised (the road came out on the Birmingham road near Bromsgrove, and i soon found Paul Mattys!), then it was simply down the A38 and onto the M5... I know it would have been quicker to head North and get on nearer Brum, but it just seems 'wrong' to be going in the opposite direction.

Yeah, going home was a mare, there was roadworks everywhere!

Despite a precautionary visit before leaving the pub on pulling on to the main road the battle between bladder and fuel gauge level commenced, nevermind, thought I, as I considered the array of Services' ahead. Then the diversion, which eventually passed a Morrison's SS, in I pulled - alas 1105 closed at 1100

Drove on, dials low abdomen is screaming, another SS, pull in, stand with crossed legs as I as I pull the fuel trigger. Shite, I'm putting petrol in a diesel car (3 quid before I realised), hang the nozzle up, go and pay my bill, slam £20 down, dash to the loo, come back pick up change, go and refill with Deisel.

Journey home otherwise uneventful.

Another great night, thanks to all.

OMG! Had I known that the motorway was closed, I would have suggested you followed me as I live just off the A38 in between Paul Matty's and the M5 Droitwich so you essentially drove past my house

Good to see everyone (after so long - my bad!)

Good meet good chat and a fair number- 10 I think!
It seems, as Dave alluded to, that the West Midlands now encompasses Weston-s-mud, Chippenham, Wokingham and Nottingham, as well as more recognisable Midland towns like Solihull, Bromsgrove and Kenilworth.

Not proposing a takeover, but nice to see everyone, and Jim we must stop seeing each other like this: people will talk!!!!!

Hope you all had a safe (if diverted) journey home.
