Well after 6 weeks its back!
I am stuck with Gearknob removal - the set screw simply will not budge and is breaking my 2mm Allen Keys... Any tips to remove a seized set screw? Can they drill out with a 2.5mm drill? Tips please as I really want to put my Lotus Gearknob on the car (which I bought around 20 yrs ago!)

A squirt of WD 40 (or similar) and left overnight, a small (not sure if they exist that small) stripped screw removal tool or a drill - which would be the last trick I'd try. Its very easy to ruin the threads forever that way. If you have all the other set screws out (assuming there's more than one) can it just wiggle off?
I do whatever my Rice Crispies tell me to do

Thanks - I think it's just one screw... I will try the wd40 tip....

I would go for easing and penetrating oil instead - I doubt WD40 would be up to it on it's own.

I'd suggest that an Imperial allen key slightly larger than 2mm (3/32") may be persueded to fit and give a tighter grip on the grub screw?
Failing that, drill it out.
