Following a great weekend last year and a parade lap, we're heading back to Brands Hatch again for the Lotus Festival. This year the event will be held over 15 and 16 August and we have booked a club stand for LEC members to bring, display their cars and generally promote awareness of how good the M100 is today. A map of club stands is available here (note it's subject to change, so I'll let you know when finalised).
I have been asked to act as LEC coordinator for this event, which probably means freshening up the attendance list and forwarding numbers to the organisers and tickets to all of you, then being there to help on the day with .
For me (last year a newbie to this group) this was a great way to get to know many of you and I made quite a few new friends, putting faces to names on the forum. I don't think there's a 'show standard' of car other than you taking an interest in it, so please don't be put off if your Elan isn't looking perfect. Mine certainly isn't and the community nature of the weekend should come across.
I realise that Geoff started a list elsewhere but I can't edit the top post in the thread and many entries were made several months ago and may not now be valid, so I'll put a link from there to here and ask a mod to close the old thread. I will try to keep this list at the top of the thread updated with the current attendance plan - please add your names below ASAP as I need to get numbers over to Bibs shortly.
This post will be updated with admin/instructions for attendees as I receive it from the organisers, so please check back from time to time.
Arrangements:
- The Club stand has space for max 20 cars on each day.
- A limited number of complimentary weekend tickets are available via LEC.
- Weekend Tickets are transferable between people - one ticket admits one person.
- Vehicle passes are also transferable - one pass admits one Elan, but not it's driver!
- Passes will be allocated on a first come, first served basis for each Elan M100 attending.
- Tickets will be allocated to drivers first, then their intended passengers on a first come, first served basis.
- 'Saturday only' attendees need to return their tickets (complimentary only) and passes for use by 'Sunday only' entrants.
- 'Sunday only' entrants will either receive tickets and passes in the post, or on the morning of the event.
- Life happens. If someone finds they can't attend, please ensure that the passes get to someone who can.
If you are planning to put your car(s) on the LEC stand, please tell me in this thread. Once you have done that, please send your forum name, real name and postal address to me at LEC (at) abs-zero.com so that I can collate the list and forward passes/tickets out accordingly.
The list shows the number of tickets requested, the number of Elans needing passes, when you plan to attend and notes where some of you already have bought tickets via other clubs and therefore don't need them via LEC.
Here are the bookings in the form I'm using to send the tickets out (please check below that your allocations are correct).

It was only £35 last year and quite a jump to £45, but the atmosphere is excellent and more of an excuse to make the most of it (no drinking tea at 9pm and going to be at 10 this year!). I missed the Director's BBQ on the Friday night last year but Stef was raving about what a good night it was.
That's why his car is black (and his night time attacks being silent and deadly!)
