The accent was, I'm afraid, the consequence of precocious and overzealous software, not knowing its station in life; alas something that is only going to worsen I fear

Bit like predictive text and spellcheckers then - too clever by far. I wrote a report about private water supplies being polluted by a proposed waste dump and spellcheck kept changing 'private boreholes' into 'private brothels'... :banghead:

The daughter of a friend from Montpellier spent a few years teaching French in a private school in UK so her English is excellent and she enjoys 'wordplay', describing herself as a "cunning linguist" ...
She's also very quick to tell me when I've got a French word slightly wrong and said something completely different - which is very often!

When I drove the Eclat she told me the French have multiple uses for the word éclat relating mainly to something intense, sudden and short duration - flash of lightning, burst of laughter etc but can be used for brilliant, sparkle etc... but also can be used for 'the man in a raincoat' hence she jokingly started calling me Lotus Flasherman ...

When I changed to taking the Elan down there she delighted in telling me I was now driving a 'moose' (or 'elk' if I preferred). I argued as it had no accent it was the English use of Elan that applied, not her French élan...

Happened so fast it took me by surprise, 1245pm on a back road somewhere between Wellington and Hemyock, Devon either Dark Green or Blue, passed in a blur, I was in the Jag going the other way, almost missed it.

My next door neighbour accosted me to say he had seen a car like mine in Preston on Saturday. Thought it would be RobP's NMY SE, but no it was a white one. Spotted near the Continental pub.

Dark Blue with reg ending GCL on the Cramond road heading into Edinburgh around midday, top down and 2 up, never seen that colour in Scotland before. Also an Evora with racing livery being filmed by camera crew heading over the Forth Road Bridge.

Whilst queuing in the road works at the end of the M6/A14 slip road, a black M100 SRB with hardtop passed us heading towards the M1.
We were in the S2 and just managed a quick wave, not sure if you spotted us.

J---WDA, Steel Blue, in Sandbanks just after 5pm this afternoon. Saw its backside as it drove past, five minutes later came back the other way. I was walking along the pavement but tried to get their attention with a wave! They didn't notice!

Well who's that then? I thought mine was the only BRG in the immediate area - and it wasn't me. I was there around that time, but I was in the X1. Was it on he M'way, or on the roads around?

At first I thought it might be you but then saw it wasn't. I'd just hit the motorway heading to Devon, I overtook it at the Service Station or thereabouts. Hood up, middle aged chap at the wheel appeared to be concentrating hard!!!
