Such things DO exist - but I'm unsure where they are.....

Nige used to keep it all together, but I believe that Jim (Muley) may be the current keeper-of-the-tat!

I think Muley used to be "keeper o the tat" but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have it now. Whatever happened to Nige anyway ? Last heard of on Xmas Eve 2011 and then he slipped under the LEC radar !! Hope he's OK :?

OK, this is a formal call out for the 'keeper o the Tat' to step forward please.

Geoff is willing to pay postage if the banners and whatever we have can be sent down to me in Kent in time for the event.

I'll update the list in a moment and it looks like we will have some free tickets to hand out, need to work out if there will be enough, but given many have already booked camping with SELOC the rest may be OK.

Let's see...

OK, as we get a little closer...

I make the totals so far as:
................Elans....Tickets
Saturday.......11........9
Sunday.........16........12

Please check your details above in the list at the top of the first page of this thread and let me know if I've missed anything.

I believe we have been offered 10 passes and 20 complementary tickets. I'll send the data above to Bibs and see if I can at least get more passes for the stand and work on the basis of allocating tickets to drivers with cars on a first come, first served basis, then spare tickets will go to passengers where you have indicated you want to bring the better half / friend along.

Hopefully this makes sense!

Ian, just to clarify - passes to get on LEC stand and ticket to get into Brands? If we are limited to passes then those who don't get a pass have to use public parking? Looks like we need more passes allocated to get us all on stand?

I have edited the first post (as that's what i probably should have done before, instead of just adding to a random post on P2!!!) - to confirm, Fri, Sat and Sunday camping with SELOC, so have tickets but need a 'club/show entry' pass thingy.

Sorry - should've explained this better earlier.

I've asked for more passes, so I don't believe (hope) this won't be a problem. Bibs is dealing with this for us and I know he's currently a busy man. Hopefully my email to him today will net some more passes (currently we need 19), up by one as Alan will be with us both days (and assuming that David (davieiow) will be able to join us.

The passes are (as Trevor suggests) the bit that gets the car through the gate into the show field. The tickets admit one person to the event.

I'll also lower the ticket numbers by one in the top listing to reflect Dave's acquisition of tickets through SELOC.

So, of those needing tickets via LEC, do you intend to bring a passenger?

Had I known how this worked at the beginning I could have made it easier, but hey-ho, if you're OK with bearing with me as I work it out, we will get there. :)

Cheers,

Ian.

OK, heard from Bibs this morning and have a couple of updates.

The stand has space for a maximum of 20 cars. I'll start a reserves list if anyone wants to fill a gap, should one open up.

Some of us have been talking about meeting up on the way into the event; I think this will be the best way for those needing just Sunday tickets / passes as those attending just Saturday need to be able to return them to me for use by others on Sunday.

The plan will be:
- Saturday and Sat+Sun tickets and passes will be posted out when I receive them from Bibs.
- Sunday only tickets will be handed out in person on Sunday morning.

Tickets and passes are transferable and reusable, so this should get more of us in for free, which is a bonus I wasn't expecting. :)

I'll see what sort of time we're expected to be assembled within the site and we can hopefully work out arrangements for Sunday morning from that.

That seems really counter intuitive. I thought this was supposed to be the Lotus Festival? Every year there is lots of unused space, and I bet there'll be HUNDREDS of Esprit.

I can understand limiting "free entry tickets" so they make money but limiting space for display cars is rubbish.

I love the track at Brands Hatch, but this event was bigger and better at Snetterton! :poke:

Like Trevor I have my ticket from TLF and it came with a black window hanger, according to the map linked to in the first post of this thread the black hanger allows entry to the display area I believe, perhaps someone could confirm this. The hanger also states that entry should be prior to 0900hrs.

Ian, you might want to update the list indicating that I already have a ticket and pass, it might relieve the pressure on the number of passes required.

I see what you mean, but the stands are arranged based on the expected level of interest from each club. In our case, it looks like Bibs might have judged it just right based on the interest in this thread. ;)

I'm not sure of our track record at this event so can't comment much beyond last year, which I did attend - we had approx 25 cars, lured in by the parade lap offered for the Elan's 25th birthday; if in other years we have struggled to fill the space, there's nothing worse than seeing a club stand with big gaps that's simply trying to occupy space. I've seen that happen with a couple of Vauxhall clubs and it isn't good for the visitors. Remembering that the paying visitors to the event are the ones generating its funding, the free tickets help to bring more cars in to look at.

I reckon if we can say we want more (say 30, 40 or 50) places next year and can show we have the demand then we'll get the stand layout juggled to accommodate us, but if we have 10-15 cars committing to each day, the organisers aren't realistically going to do it.

Perhaps we should run this thread much earlier next year, if (before 2-3 months to go) we have more demand, we can stretch our space a bit. :)

In the end, I'm taking advice from Bibs that there is space for 20 cars, I haven't measured the pitch and have no layout in mind. 20 might not seem a squeeze when we get there!

I'll post up the list I'm running in Excel - it's much clearer and shows we have about 17/18 cars on Sunday now, so there are two spaces remaining anyway, I suspect if anyone new was interested in attending, they would probably have registered by now.

OK, here's the Excel version...

Please let me know if amendments are needed. Note we're not limited on space or tickets yet. :)

Probably worth noting that I've lifted Stef and Ian out of the list as Blipi won't be down for this year. :(

Cheers,

Any chance you could email me a photo of the hanger? It might be fine for the club stands area and save some effort. I've got mine from last ear to compare it to at least. ;)

Fish and chip run - of course - any excuse to get my top off! ;)

Ian, sorry I'm now a little confused with your spreadsheet. :? I have entry tickets which were purchased through TLF but do not have passes for LEC stand. These presumably you are obtaining and will either post or probably give on the day when we meet up? Is my understanding correct?

I'm bringing one of my Grandson's on Sunday so would appreciate one of the complementary tickets if possible.
