What's a 1990
S2 ???????????
Heading says 40,000 miles but read on and it's 49,832 !!!!! I'd call that 50,000 in round figures.
Asking price is optimistic too...

On another thread somebody likened owning an Elan to the costs and pleasure of having a mistress ... reckon the book should be called "50 Shades of Red"..

I saw this one on autotrader last night, but it didn't have any pictures yet. Maybe a customer used it as a trade in, and managed to convince the dealership that it was an S2?

Hmmm, £6k for a high milage NA which has been re-sprayed a different colour (and not finished brilliantly) - no pics of engine bay, or details of much at all - bound to attract lots of offers.
(I'm basing the assessment on the fact that it has no 'SE' on the boot, and no mention of a turbo anywhere in the advert - but it *may* be a boost guage in the interior photo - hard to see properly.....but the mirrors appear to be shiny which would fit with the OE mirrors for an NA being black)

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

i wouldnt bother, not for that price. Im familiar with the side effects of a poor respray and honestly wouldn't ever pay more than 2-3k for anything that needs paint or body work.
in this case, i can see my car is shinier than that. and Im still not happy with it.

I've asked the question about the door locks. I'll let you know what they say.
Didn't mask the side indicator lights either when they sprayed it. I think I could have got a better finish with some black Sandtex masonry paint and a roller.

My wife's just divorced me because I wouldn't open the car door for her!
To be fair I panicked and swam straight for the surface.

Didn't we used to have a forum member call MattElan? Maybe I misunderstood and it was a description rather than a name.
Or perhaps I'm just thinking of Matalan!

Matalan...very good.
Well he's replied "Hi it's got no door locks as it has remote central, I have the turbo manifold that's missing from the picture as well that I will email you later today, if your local your more than welcome to view and I will take you out in her
Thanks
Karl"
and later a picture arrived which I thought was from a car in a breakers yard and the following:
"Morning here is a pic of the engine bay, and yes it is a turbo model, the engine bay is still green, were only considering selling her asmy wifes pregnant and its only done 1500 miles since its last mot"
Wasn't sure if the green engine bay was from original paint or if he'd created the perfect environment for some algae. I would think it was scrap value only.
