Can someone send Jason the instructions, then he can remove the lock and try to fix it without further damage!?!

I sent him an email. The Fed car's boot lid is different from the UK version, so the standard solution won't work. Similar to the S2.

Yeah, I recalled we had a previous conversation on the matter, so I trawled through my sent box and sent him a copy of what I had, yours will be better I imagine.
Incidentally, thanks for your email about freight and packing boxes, the reason I hadn't replied is that all emails to that account are arriving fine but my replies keep getting bounced! I do appreciate your advice though.

Thought I’d resurrect an old thread rather than start a new one.
Fortunately (?) my boot is stuck open rather than closed!
My lock has broken about where the red arrow is. I don’t know if I need a new barrel or if this bit can be replaced / repaired?

I’m not feeling hopeful!

The Boot Lock comprises multiple parts...
The Boot Lock Lever (A100B1286H) went obsolete in January of 2002.
It is a separate part that is held on by a horseshoe clip. I can't imagine why the two broken pieces can't be cleaned up, brazed back together and work without issue for another 25+ years.
I will grab one from stock and see if I can provide a better picture and answer.

Kathryn, before you buy anything, just make sure the S2 lock is the same as the SE one. It’s a while since I had mine to bits, but from what I remember it didn’t have that big curvy metal piece on it at all (but I HAVE seen that on an SE lock).
On the other hand, somebody may well have “improved” mine over the last 23 years!

That is an SE lock. The SE IS DIFFERENT from the S2 because the S2 has a longer key so a longer tumbler. Not many S2s over here.
Where it broke is the same design (at least based on the parts book) although the lever seems to be a bit shorter.
I was trying to show that the lever can be removed fairly easily and a decent welder should be able to fix hers.
It seems to be an odd place to break since all loads are sideways. Maybe someone tried to bend it outward to better hit the latch lever?

The one in my post is an S2 one (according to the eBay advert at least) it’s not as long as the SE ones.
Unfortunately I don’t know where the broken piece is! But good news if just that bit can be replaced. I’ve not removed the barrel yet as I didn’t want to damage it further.

Just for reference I fitted a boot lock from a Citroen on my S2, almost identical in operation but seems better made and a nicer key, works great.

The piece should be floating inside the boot lid or in the boot itself. The replacement part has been obsolete for years.
The SE used the early GM door key while the S2 uses the ignition key for everything and it is longer, so the barrel is longer which makes the lever shorter but basically the same.
Install a solenoid and you won't need a lock at all.

Ah Now I understand the difference. I know they’re obsolete I’ve read all the threads on it. I understand mk2 Astra might be compatible not that I’ve found one of those either.
Solenoid would be great. It was already on the might do that list.

The challenge I’ve had is finding a small enough 12v solenoid to make it look half way neat.
