Directors engine change

Hi,

Do any of you remember a director who wanted his engine changed because it was
'down on power' ?
It was given to a college when removed from the car.
Question; Was there anything actually wrong with it?
It has a small dent in the sump but seems fine otherwise.
I was told it had done less than 3000 miles.
I've had it for about 20 years.

Yes Geoff,

They would be unlikely to know if a director from a customer organization had a problem.
Maybe I was fed a story. I would expect a problem of lack of power would soon be solved.

PS It was fully dressed. - alternator,turbo,manifolds etc.
PPS. Thinking about it - it makes sense that the easiest and quickest way to change an engine
would be to remove it fully dressed (ie. with all ancillaries) and replaced with the same.
This would be easy at Hethel but unlikely elsewhere.
