Looks like a tidy one - unfortunately the seller hasn't got a clue and has used generic 'interweb' information for the advert...... "123bhp", "ABS".

MOT History is excellent, though. And less than 2K miles in the last 10 years, so check that service history for cambelt renewal!!!
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Told the seller he was 'under selling it' and can claim a further 42 bhp so listing now correctly shows 165 bhp. :D I'm interested to see what that sells for as my SE on SORN is sitting on 53.5K miles.
Also interesting that my defunct Collapso Red SE was registered 9 days after this one and I had the Swiss Army Knife in the toolkit and this one hasn't, confusing... thought early had, later hadn't :smt102

Well that's a tatty car what with two rivits in the front clam holding it together and new paint needed, a new roof, possible new centre console as it appears to have had a phone fitted, replacement turbo heat shield needed, a new rear NS light unit, odd arial fitting on the OSR, door and clam catching on the NSF (possible light impact maybe hence no lights and a cracked clam?), claims that its got good seals but I note that the drivers lower door seal has gone AWOL!! OK easy replacement but it still missing, delamination on the windscreen, no rear speakers with what appears to be the standard wet carpet behind the seats and lack of carpet trim on the drivers door, interior mirror fallen off and no horn push and I assume the pods are there but it has no actual lights to fit!.

Whilst the milage 'might' be nice, the question has to be asked, has it had new clocks at some point? No reg to check.

Deffo a project and one that needs at least £3,500.00 to include a good paint job?

nice mileage but nothing to back it up .
I fear that this won't make it back . good luck if someone takes it on But its fair to say some cars have to become donors in order to keep others on the road .
We know nothing of wishbones ,( unless thats what they are calling A frames ) sill rot etc.

Red one looks like a donor car, as horn push missing, rear view mirror hanging off, no lights etc??

No I didn't. It was a bit too tatty both inside and out for me. I reckon at £4k it was £500 overpriced.

I get rather suspicious of elans that attract many bids all within the 1st day .
this now has 17 bids @£2450 reserve not met .
And the last bidder has double bid themselves "just incase".

Whilst I share your cynicism/paranoia on the bidding habits, there is a possible legitimate reason for this.

If the bidder has submitted a bid and becomes the highest bidder (but reserve price is not met) - (23:05:33 GMT) at £2450, then that would show on the bid history....

.... should he then wish to 'test' the reserve, he may guess that the seller has set it at £2500, so enters a higher bid (23:05:45 GMT) of, say £2501.

However, if the new bid is also below the reserve threshold, it will keep him as the highest bidder at his original amount.

Had it been at or exceeding the reserve, then the new bid would be listed as a 'winning' bid.

So, you see - it's all perfectly genuine

HMMMM, what I hate is that you put an item on for 10 days and nothing happens until the last hour! and I have lost decent cars for the sake of a pound! because of that buying app(which I think costs a fair bit to buy) ranting over, I have too put our car on soon, will let you all know :(

Not strictly true. All you need do is put in the maximum bid you are prepared to pay, and ebay will keep raising your bid progressively up to that level when someone else bids, until you are beaten. But you only ever pay enough to beat any other bid below yours by the minimum amount. So you could bid £50 for something but actually only pay £29, or whatever, if only lower bids come in. Conversely if the winning bidder bids £50 more than you he would win it by the minimum amount to better your bid, ie £1. So even if you had bid another £5 more, he would still have beaten you by £1 until you bid enough to beat his (hidden) bid of £50 more.

So you never really know how much you lost it by: it just appears to be only £1. Yes there are buying apps you can cheat with, but I don't bother: just put in the maximum you are prepared to pay and let it run its course. If you win, you will get it for any value from the minimum bid or reserve up to your maximum. If you lose, you weren't prepared to pay more anyway.
