Many went to Donington just for the day & the meeting arrangements seem focused for a weekend stopover.
Would another list for Saturday only be useful on the main thread?

If it goes well, it won't be the last.

I'm sure HJ will approve, but isn't it a bit far in one day?

Rambo wrote:Gareth - we tried to resurrect the original Lakes bash last year (campsite attached to the pub and also accommodation in Sykeside pub and barn) and there was a lot of interest but nothing happened in the end. I think Dapinky was organising it but in the end it came to nothing due to conflicting dates. As Maz has stated, hammer a stake in the ground and let folks work round it as you will never please everyone all the time

Sykeside https://sykeside.co.uk/ was a great site with good food and bevvy. We couldn't have asked for more. Apart from the weather. No driving was done but in some cases this was a good thing as a few amongst us couldn't even walk - Stevo, Scott, Monty, Dico....

non of us could walk at Sys Shelsy Walsh hill climb weekend either .

Only a handful shown interest so far. Not really enough to make it a place to meet many new & old forum friends.
I am fairly sure there were a large number of people attended Donington on Saturday only, so we need to a 1 day event which fits into a weekend for those who want it.

Does anyone have any ideas about an event we can either use or create to base Saturday around?
Not too early for those who want to travel there for the day only...or need to recover from their hangover

Rip
it is basically a Saturday meet.....with run out......
it just includes the curry night which we all wanted (sorted for the Friday night).....
Sunday was the drive home day.....
its also still 4 months away......that's 1/3rd of a year.....
as for organising........easy....
just up to those wishing to come to stick their names down and sort some accommodation......
positive thought........that usually helps......
:poke:
thanks

Aaaah Good call! I also hope to be at Brands Hatch Lotus festival despite SELOC pulling out.
Hopefully I'll have a shiny running Elan to bring along :) Camping over is my preference. Hopefully will be nothing like the sodden Lakes events I organised years ago that resulted in the Hard Top being put into action!

I'm pleased to see a meet being organised as it seems a long time since LEC have done anything as a group. Unfortunately I will be playing at the British Open that weekend. Maybe next time... Or the time after that...

Gareth,
Where's the curry likely to be? Within staggering distance of the Palace?

As this is getting closer, I'm just trying to set up meeting some friends in the area.

Looking forward to it.

John
yes Im planning on doing it all within staggering distance........either that or a taxi ride away.......(but a Taxi across Buxton shouldn't cost you more than a £5er at the best of times......)
cheers
