Good news Mr. H - I trust you've changed your underwear and will be doing the lottery this week.

One problem I had with the Wilwoods (on 16" S2s) was getting the exit angle correct and consistently heading South. The original hoses came straight out and because of their length, needed a half loop to allow for wheel movement. I didn't like them so changed to a right angle NPT adapter and Goodridge hoses but because the callipers are not handed, the adapter ended up pointing up on the RHS so I tapped the calliper to get another half turn. Even then, it was difficult to get them to lie consistently and one morning I heard a click-click so took the car home. It turned out to be the weights rubbing through the hose - just the plastic outer but I'd only been driving slowly and done a couple of miles. I fitted plates and rubber grommets to the original mounting point but didn't like the idea of it pulling through so they are firmly anchored with P clips either side of the bracket.

It's certainly worth checking regularly as the wide tyres and large wheel offset make this issue even more prevalent.

They are still active in the price guide at £16.54 + VAT each. Your local dealer can get them for you at this price.

Yep, confirmed by local dealer today ( SJ also list them at that price). Should be with me Tuesday next week, just need to check they fit my callipers OK before I place the order.

Agree with Ray. The guy did stamp on them somewhat. Having sat in with a race driver once it seems that is how you are supposed to apply brakes
Big concern I have with the braided hoses being sold is you will not know if they have moved in service and are therefore in danger of rubbing until they fail on you. Quite how you are meant to attach the clips Goodridge supply is beyond me. IMHO they should not be sold without the rigid centre fitting the OE's have. You should not have to bodge them with various combinations of cable ties!
And until last week I did not believe the braid is in fact an important structural element required to achieve their high burst pressure, Bob knew his stuff.
I now recall seeing what I thought was insignificant damage to the braid when bleeding the brakes after fitting the Dorman rears - please check yours carefully for any sign of damage!

So I've just suffered the front ns hose rubbing on the wheel :( been out today and spirited driving all fine, popped into my mum's and when I left hear a rubbing sound so had a look and thought it was the wheel rubbing on the liner so got in went up the road a little and can still hear a rubbing sound so out and had another look tying from lock to lock to figure out where it was rubbing then realised it was the stainless hose and it had rubbed through the braid . Car now home and will order replacements tomorrow. These have been on for at least 6 years and the hi-specs for 5 and it's only just happened to me so I urge everyone to check them regularly.

This reminds me of 1965. I had a tornado talisman. The upper wishbones at the rear were drive shafts and the non-armoured brake hose
had chafed on it. I was on the Southend arterial and coming in to a roundabout behind 2 cars. 'No brakes' I was able to go onto the roundabout
as the kerb was low. I managed to spin the car to prevent coming off the other side. The looks on the faces of my two passengers (mouths open, faces white)
curled me up. (I was a young 30 and too stupid to be afraid).
I replaced the hoses and suspended them with springs to keep them clear if the rotating shafts.
A police car stopped to investigate and decided not to charge me with anything.
Not exactly on subject but it amused me at the time.
