Red Carpet

Hi
This has probably been asked before but does anyone know where I can buy red carpet to match the original Elan red carpets?

Hi Mike,

When I retrimmed the Red NA, I visited a few carpet suppliers across the country (as you do) and eventually bought from Cloverdale - http://www.carcarpets.co.uk/ and made the carpets for the car which came out really well. I had the corners stitched so it fitted, made a new rear map pocket and also a heel pad stitched in but obviously it isn't contoured like the original but it looks good.

Looking for the Cloverdale website, this company http://www.martrim.co.uk/catalogue/tuft ... arpet.html also appears to do a bright red carpet and may be worth contacting?

I hope this helps?

regards

John

Quite a choice here ...www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-76-carpet.aspx

I need a new bit of 'door panel carpet' but difficult to see what's what from their website photos so was going to drive there sometime to see what they's got that's similar to original.

If you could send me a little bit of the carpet you want I could see what they've got to match it and provide info for you to do a mail order.

Quite happy to do that as it would make my journey more worthwhile.. :-D

Hi Phil
Thanks for the offer do you live near Woolies?

With Jamie's Elan I have 2 brand new red floor carpets and B post panel carpets he had already fitted 2 new floor carpets and rear bulk head carpet but I seem to remember he bought the extra floor carpets to cut up to make door carpets and a map pocket however with the carpets being shape moulded this could prove difficult and also seems a waste of brand new genuine Lotus carpets. I could clip a bit of the edge of a carpet for you to colour match. Or to save you the hassle I could contact Woolies to see if they will accept a sample to colour match. If that is not possible I would be very grateful if you could have a go at matching the colour pile etc. for me.

Near Woolies? .. Well, it's 96 miles across East Anglia so a nice excuse for a cross country blast in the Elan, plus I have a friend lives 20 miles in my direction so nice excuse to call in and see how she's getting on. :bananasex:
I plan to go there sometime anyway as they sell really good waterproof adhesive that they can't send through the post for 'safety reasons'.. :banghead: ... so it's no trouble to me as long as you're not in a rush..

Hi Everyone

I now have further problems. The car came with 4 "B" post carpets brand new in their packets showing LH and RH official Lotus labels however the items in the packets are ALL LEFT HAND!!!!!! :banghead:

Does anyone have a right hand "B" post carpet in RED?

Also anyone who bought new carpets from the Lotus After Sales list a few years ago to keep for future use CHECK what you have you might have a load of RH "B" post carpet labelled as LH I can do you a swap.

Cheers Mike
