New hood/soft top for federal elan

The rear window in the hood of my federal elan is completely clouded and none of the many products I have tried will clean it.

Has anyone replaced their hood on a federal elan. If so what supplier did you use?

There's an advantage of having oldersters still hanging around the forum - we remember what was written years ago. My car has a replacement top, purchased here. Seems quite tight but I can't say for sure since Smaug hasn't seen rain for the last 8+ years.

Tom: You should visit a decent trim shop and see what they will charge to replace the rear window. They probably can't "high frequency weld" it in place, but good trim shops have been replacing convertible top windows for years. They use a good, waterproof thread and a sealer to prevent leaking. As long as the fabric is in good condition, that would be my first research. While apart, they could fix any strapping or wear issues that might have cropped up over time.

I've often thought about getting a trim shop to change mine to a zip in rear window. Has advantages in use and dead easy to get replaced in the future. Is now the time for you?
