Looks nice. Shame it's a CAT D write off. Be doing well getting near the asking price for it which is a shame. I know how hard it was to sell my CAT Elan I had last year.

Not an M100 but with the forum members skills on keeping out the water this surely has to be of interest to someone. :D

Hello - I've put my car up on Ebay - I'm going to miss having the little Elan but now I have an Evora its not getting the use it deserves.

Saw it pop up this afternoon. Looks a great car with several of the more desirable updates. However, I can just imagine the conversation with the Financial Director:
"But it would be a matched pair"
    "You don't need two Elans"
"But it's a nice colour - you like blue cars"
"You still don't need two Elans"
    It's not a S2, though - I've always fancied an earlier model"
"We could have a new floor in the sitting room for half that"
So we will :banghead:

" I thought I might hang on to it and wait for it to appreciate but I’ve decided against it... that and my Fiance thinks 2 Lotus’ is an excessive amount for one person and that the money might be better spent on our wedding! "

Sorry, you need to get a more appreciative partner not sell the other Lotus !! Start the way you mean to go on

Don't do it Dave, Been there done that. Fortunately, I decided to keep both cars. If I had to sell one of them it would be the Evora.

Yes it's a great car to drive. It's the only one in Bahrain. But it's not an Elan. You can't drop the top down on a nice sunny day.

Don't tempt your luck  An Esprit might be a bridge too far

I'm very fortunate in having a partner who actively encourages me. One wasn't enough so I was forced out to buy another 2  Now that I've sold one there's space on the drive again for another :burnout:

:agree: Doesn't give essential information on ad but Mot expired June 2015 and done around 76k so would usually go at that price... think the problem is the 'custom bodywork' :smt078

'Agreed insurance of £6,500 ' what about a box of matches rather than ebay ?

How about this one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1992-LOTUS-EL ... 1614249438?

Brought to break but apparently seller has changed his mind. Must be a good car if the seller thinks it will fetch more complete bearing in mind the prices he asks for his parts. Don't expect a test drive!.

Just a quick question - what is the highest known recorded mileage on any M100?

Whilst I have heard of many in their high 100's, and Gerald has/had one with well over 200K....

.... are they really 'known' for going over 300K??????
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Nick - this was on EBay the other day then magically disappeared off their site for a few days and is obviously now back  I bet it doesn't have a tool kit though

Dave - did you ever know or meet Richard with his BRG. Last time I saw the car (Lakes Sykeside camping trip and/or Donington yonks ago) it had done 230,000 miles from memory. I think he was recommissioning it a year or two ago so I hate to think how much is on the clock now

However, I've never heard anyone boast that "THESE ENGINES CAN COVER 300000+"

By the way, whats a jumper ? I thought it was something you wore when it got cold

Mark,

I don't think I ever met him, but it still falls far short of '300k+'.....

.... like you, I thought a jumper is a posh name for a wooly pully.
