Probably before you were in LEC Dave. The likes of Sy, Nige, Dickhead, Monty... that era would remember Richard

Just off for a fast drive in my jumper. Its turned a bit cool today :burnout:

Further information has come to light to suggest that Gerald has seen more than one elan with over 300K miles on the engine, and I will accept that in the absence of any definite proof - but maybe it's a bold statement to make in an advert which may lead to a potential purchaser having issues down the road which they believe won't occur.

And as for the car being previously advertised, I have to admit that i don't follow ebay as closely as I used to, but until yesterday I hadn't seen it advertised, and would have hoped that anyone who had seen it may have linked it to here for all of us to see....

....who knows the ways of "The Bay" :?

It may or may not be a good car for the money - and only the final bidder will decide what that money should be.

Let's hope that buyer and seller are both happy with the result - and the rest of us will have no need to worry about any of it, anyway [peace emoji?]
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

There are possibly a few Elans much closer to 300k than the owners realise, taking into consideration clocking.. which was rife in the motor trade in the 90's due to the fact that it was a lot more difficult to check a vehicles history, combine that with the unscrupulous owner who might have given their own car a "haircut" , there is bound to be some :? .

Stop cutting the back windows out please ...
it doesn't make the car look any better , rain will now piss in and it makes you look like a cheapskate ... £1000's spent but i cant be arsed to fix the roof or get a new rear window stitched in ..

It can be done .... i have done it . Go and buy some MGF rear thicker screen ( £30 ) and spend a day doing it yourself .

Totally agree Clemo. What a cheapskate !! And totally useless in our climate

I think I've seen this car before on EBay. Or one very similar with the plastic window cut out. I'm also fairly sure the guy is a dealer so it might have been his or another of his cars ??

Something jogs my memory that an LEC member contacted "margaret_65" about an M100 and he said he had a shed load of them. Does this ring any bells with anyone else ??

PS no turbo heatshield. That's the 2nd I've seen without one in as many days

...........and having gone to the extent of replacing the chassis and doing all of the other 'wonderful' improvements (as claimed), to cut the rear window out because it was 'cloudy' is staggering..........

:-D

p.s. I wonder if they have photos of the 'chassis replacements' (emphasis added!) and an explaination to why it/they was/were replaced. 8)
