If you've still got the copper springs, the plastic ones should work fairly well. That material is tough. The stainless is pretty brittle and those tabs don't like to be bent very far.

How do we order st. steel pivot pins from Shapeways ?
Do they already have the computer models for the pins ?
If you could explain the process

Here is the STL file again in meters- the original was inches. For reference, the overall height (longest dimension) should be exactly 26mm.

They are not expensive, so just order what you need for yourself. In 2011, they were around $2.00 each when made by Shapeways in Nylon Plastic, a bit more if made in a metal. There is no discount for larger orders.

I'm also trying to source a motor, it seems that the pins in mine - one was replaced with what looks like a small bolt, head removed and a dollop of silkaflex or similar to connect to the glass. The other looks like it was simply glued into the motor and will not come out. The motor rotates it, but the pin has to rotate too. I'm not really sure how they are meant to connect into the motor so not sure just pins will help. I am working on the basis that if one side is not great the other probably isn't either.

Can you not download the zip (and maybe rename the enclosed file to Mirror Pivot Pin.stl) and send it to shapeways?
