Geoff you'll be delighted to hear we had a good turn out tonight and we all went for a swim too. Absolute horrendous downpours to and from the pub. Not the best of conditions to drive in, never mind in our cars.
Pleased to say mine didn't leak! But big splashes from huge puddles did cause a mis-fire at high revs under load. Hope it'll dry out and hope my diagnosis is right.....
Good to see everyone, even if only 2 Elans of 6 present. Weather and calipers falling off are almost a good excuse......
Edit make that 3 see below. The rain got in my eyes.
No excuses. We get more at the Scottish meets and it rains most of the time up here
Incidentally, do you think the excesses of water somehow got into the ignition/ coil packs to cause your misfire Fredjohn ?
Better weather on the way this w/e allegedly ! High pressure building so no excuses West Mids owners. Tops down, calipers tightened...

Thanks for thoughts on mis-fire. As I'd hit a huge lake on the nearside, wet coil packs were my thoughts too.
About to set off to Lakes for Club Lotus w/e so I'll find out. Car dry garaged all night.
Given the crap weather it was a good turn out. I don't want to get used to rain more than I have to, so I'll stay in England thank you

Need to re-priorityse the order of jobs in mine. when driving slow it leaks really badly
Was expecting Martin to turn up, was a bit surprised.

Yep - but maybe not in the elan - it will depend if I have managed to mop up the puddle of brake fluid from under my rear offside wheel and got it back into the reservoir..... I may also have to slap a bit of gaffer tape over wherever it has leaked out from before I can drive it

Yes Phil,
This Thursday it is. I am not expecting a huge turnout, mind, but we live in hope

Nice one John. I take it you won't need the CO tester then?
You can tell us all about it tomorrow...

If you can find it please bring it, we can do a quick test in the carpark! But if finding it is difficult, that's fine.

If you (Martin) can't find yours easily, I've got one which I can bring up next month (but I won't be there tonight).
But in other news, I got a nice shiny new MOT today myself (and no advisories)
