Taking the proverbial

Postby Rambo » Sat 03.09.2016, 19:57

Thought I'd start a new topic for people asking extortionate prices for M100 bits 'n bobs. This simple switch is going to take some beating

Subtle difference between those two. First is a ridiculous Buy it Now price, plus £10 postage, for a switch ! Second is an auction that starts at quite a high price and a couple of bidders want it so much they take it to a silly price.

Think I need to sort out my boxes of spare bits and get posting on ebay ..

Are these discontinued or something ? Aren't the standard VX parts ?

They are getting harder to find, and probably no longer available from a UK Vauxhall dealer....

..... however, they do come up quite often on ebay germany site (and UK sometimes).

There are a few held by various LEC members for a much better price if none availlable at the time you need one.

Most are the Vauxhall version (with the triangle symbol in white), but the switch is the same.

The triangle symbol is part of a small square of plastic which just pushes into the switch housing, so you can just take the one out of your (broken) Lotus switch and fit it to the working 'new' switch.

(or pay DVB a fortune for this item  )
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually.....

I have bad experience of that company. They don't keep stock, what they can get takes months to come from Japan, when it does arrive it is not as advertised, and their response was not our problem. It is actually a Kia dealer. Luckily they couldn't get most of what I needed so I only lost $200.

My experience has been that they don't have most of the parts they claim to have. If you get them to order anything, the price is almost always higher (sometimes two to three times higher) than the internet "search price". They are using a very OLD price book and Isuzu no longer has a USA based master warehouse.

I know the CAS is still available from Lotus and SJs is quoting the same £262.57 as the current price book.

John and Simon -

Good feedback! A good example of "don't believe everything you see on the Internet"

:agree: There is a seller on UK ebay that lists Bailey DV30 RDV with posting saying "PLEASE NOTE ALL BAILEY DUMP VALVES WILL TAKE 2-3 WEEKS DUE TO DELAY AT BAILEY SORRY FOR ANY INCONVINIENCE". (Their spelling, not mine.)

I bought my first direct from Bailey in 2003 so phoned them and was told 'haven't made it for years and not scheduled to in the near future.." so think delay might be more than a couple of weeks. I bought secondhand via ebay.
