Sorry but I don't think I will be with you this month :(
The cold/dark/ferry cost/very late night v good food/company/chance to give the car a good thrash equation is coming down on the former I'm afraid.
Still hope to see you at the Xmas dinner but have to wait to see when the children are working over Xmas and if they are coming to us on the 18th

Apologies for this month's no-show. My Elan is at the mechanics for some TLC having failed the MOT :-( hopefully back on the road next week.

Thanks for paying our deposits Jim - I can transfer online or give you the money at the meal, whichever works best for you, let me know. Do you want us to post our menu preferences in this thread?

Now onto most important Christmas Meal topic - crackers! Were any executive decisions taken on Wednesday?
Regards

Hi Mark

1. MOT fail. Let me guess - brakes? Hope you can sort it. There were no Elans at the meet by the way. Nick has gone to the dark side and joined the youngsters in a VX200. We haven't changed our attitude towards him ;)
2. I trust you, you can pay me on the day.
3. Post your choices here - it helps keep the thread alive..
4. Crackers. We will not rely on the H+C supplied ones (although they are a good source of mirth - what the heck is this misshapen blob of purple plastic / this hat is too small etc etc / and don't even mention the jokes) Deirdre is going to check the stock left over from last year and report back, then someone will buy more as necessary.

Bye for now

1. Yup, all round fail. They managed to sort out for the MOT but will need replacing soon. It was the timing belt/water pump change, so expensive! Any recommendations on the brakes? I'd like something that stops a bit better as I fancy getting the Everest chip. Shame about Nick, I never thought I'd see the day, just goes to show, you never really know someone ;-) BTW, I'm actually joining the dark side just before the next meet..... no, not a change of car but a significant age...
2. Thanks
3. Will check with Shirl and post
4. Excellent news!
Regards

I can report that we have 5 crackers left from last year. So we'll have to share!
