It will be interesting to see if the reserve gets met (whatever it may be set at) - I wouldn't expect it to be a lot higher (realistically) for a car which needs work, has been off the road for a while, and needs a new windscreen.
As spoken, I was happy with £2200 as it stands (as I have the bits/knowledge to repair it as a bit of a project), but to me, it isn't worth much more than that - but clearly both the owner and high bidder dissagree with me

Dave
Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Don't know where your £2,200 got to as I was top of the bidding list @ £2,100 till last night ... Somebody came in this morning at £2,500 so bumped last night's bidder up to £2,500 but with 2 at that figure it's likely there be a bit more activity.

Looks like it has disappeared off Ebay again, anyone on here actually bought it? or has the seller disappeared with it again only for it to reappear again in a couple of weeks time?

It was showing at the top of my Ebay Summary page couples of hours ago when I signed on with Ebay telling me I'd been outbid, bid again, and has now completely disappeared from all lists. Reckon Seller has pulled it off. It had got stuck at £2500 for a couple of days with 'Reserve not met' ....

No, just an old bid that nobody else wanted to go higher than for a few days and then it was removed.
This one is back, at the other end of the price scale ...
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lotus-Elan-SE-Turbo-M100-5-000-MILES-ONLY-/272315883138"£17,950 and 5,000 miles" but MOT history shows lots of trouble with brakes and personally I'd advertise 5,967 + miles as '6,000 miles'. If the seller can forget about 967 miles I suggest any buyer forgets about the £950 and starts haggling down from £17,000 ...

nicely recovered but always felt 'the stripe' a bit odd in a PB Elan as Lotus didn't do blue... now if I was getting them recovered I'd be looking for somebody who could do me a blue stripe.
Looks very tidy and with a blue S2 hood should have better seals. Rear Number plate plinth is later style too as the 'perspex cover type' continued to my first J reg SE (August '91) at least.
Here's a project for somebody ....

I, too, would agree with that. Although the red stripe looks good in red cars and the yellow stripe looks good in NMY's I personally don't think the red stripe looks good in blue cars
I would've gone for the blue stripe if it had been my car and often wonder why Lotus didn't offer this as a factory option.

I don't, doubt it was bought for anything near that price and too much salesman bullshit in the ad' trying to talk it up ...
"Next MOT due 21/11/2017" but Gov MOT website says MOT "Expiry date: 22 October 2016."

(
check-mot.service.gov.uk/)
" LAST OF THE LINE LOTUS ELAN SE" - a 'J ' Reg is a long way from being that. (288 K reg & 21 L reg followed.)
"NO MODIFICATIONS " .... - really ??? Don't look like standard calipers to me...

I also don't think it has air bags either. " Excellent bodywork, Interior - Excellent Condition, Tyre condition Excellent, Airbags, Remote central locking, Alarm, Alloy wheels, CD Player, Power steering."
Maybe the spousal was in the passenger seat?
