Jonathon, having established some momentum perhaps if you guys all agree a regular schedule it'll keep the meets going ie monthly, or quarterly.

Ladies & Gents,
A suggestion for the first meet up of 2017. Just had my renewal for the Lotus come through and amongst the paperwork was a flyer for the Footman James Great Western Classic Car Show at The Royal Bath and West Showground; February 11th and 12th; gates open 9.30am - 4pm.
http://www.classicmagazines.co.uk/product/show/id/19http://gwa.bristolclassiccarshows.com/whats-on/Either day would suit me. Anyone else interested? We could even grab a bacon bap and coffee close by for a convoy to the event. What do you think?

Andy
My wife's just divorced me because I wouldn't open the car door for her!
To be fair I panicked and swam straight for the surface.

Like the idea! And I'm free that weekend too. It will also give me an incentive to get a bit of the outstanding work done. Let's see who else joins up.

I usually attend that show anyway, but this year we will be up in Manchester for a 50th birthday, so I can't make it

Dave
Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

I'm planning to be there.
(I'll also be at the classic tractor show 2 weeks before, and have been to the classic bike show a few times - that's the week before, but I probably won't this year!)
They have a classic car park outside the main buildings (it's a good idea, as it's often more interesting than the cars inside), it'd be good if we could meet up before and then park together to create an Elan display!
I usually go on the Saturday, getting in when the gates open, but am easy really!
Cheers,
Bern.

Saturday suits me and I'd agree on getting there early. Any ideas for a suitable place to meet beforehand? Preferably somewhere that does bacon sandwiches and coffee as I need fuel up the body to walk around all the cars. The only place I could find with a big car park and a coffee shop close by was Dobbies Garden Centre (Mendip Ave, Shepton Mallet BA4 4PE); unless someone knows of a decent transport cafe near the showground?
Would be good to have a small shoal of M100's arriving together.

They do have quite a few burger/bacon butty/coffee vans on site, and there's usually one in the layby on the road outside.
I can't think of any transport cafes nearby. The Haynes cafe is open at 9, but maybe that'd best be saved for another meet-up.....
Cheers,
Bern.

Can't you be ill for the day?
Oh, I forgot, you're a pharmacist - you'd have to medicate yourself so you could go to work

Ah, another classic pharmacy joke! I'm not a pharmacist though, I'm a dispenser - we're the ones who do all the work, which is why the pharmacist doesn't like to be without us on a Saturday! I could take it as holiday but I'd rather save my holidays for the warmer weather! (If I'm allowed, holidays on Saturdays are a bit of a sore point at the moment!)
I'll make a meet one day!

I'm not likely to make it to this....but if it helps, you guys might want to try the Den at Pylle for your pre-meet. Its on the A37 roadside. Its not a transport café - just a typical farm shop business expansion. I've enjoyed it whenever I've stopped there, and certainly more than I did my one go at Dobbies.

Good idea, I forgot that was there - never been in there, it wasn't there when I used to visit Rossiter's breakers yard!
I can do Saturday or Sunday, maybe we need a list of who's interested and what days they can do:
Bern - Saturday or Sunday

Or is that just making things more complicated?

But the clever ones are the pharmaceutical chemists that invent and make the drugs in the first place
The Doctors simply prescribe them and the Pharmacists just stick 'em in boxes with a nice printed label
So, take a day off packing boxes and enjoy the show Kathryn

Well, shall we aim for Sunday then? And in the spirit of attracting as wide an audience as possible, I've changed the title of the original post so as not to exclude neighbouring counties
