Tool Kit (SOLD)

Now that I've sold my Elan, I figured that I should really get the rest of the spares sold too. There will be a few things appearing over the next few weeks/months as I get around to clearing out the garage and photographing them.

Firstly (and mainly because it is currently sat on my kitchen table) is the tool kit. I've seen some of these advertised for crazy money on eBay, the last one being in the region of £300, which is quite frankly ridiculous. I'd rather sell to a club member at a sensible price and donate some money to the club, but having said all that, I don't intend to give it away for next to nothing only to see it appear on eBay in a few weeks (been there before on another forum). Anyway here are the photos, overall it's in good condition with a few minor rust spots but nothing too bad compared to some of the ones on eBay. The allen key is probably the worst for wear out of all of them. The sponge in the lid is present but not in great condition and there are a few cuts around the Lotus badge where it looks like someone has started to cut it out and then thought better of it:













Open to offers, but as a guide, the last one I saw actually sell on eBay went for somewhere in the region of £80 and was in significantly worse condition than this one.

Tell you what, I'll give you £30 for it and donate all the proceeds to LEC, including the toolkit !

Personally, I think that the toolkit should have been included with the car sale. Stripping your car of moveablele pieces to flog on for a profit at a later date isn't in the spirit of a close knit car club

To be honest, I agree and I would have much rather it had stayed with the car and gone to an enthusiast. However, after having the car for sale for numerous months and had a vast number of people never turn up after arranging to view it, or make me silly low offers for it, I was running out of options. In the end I offered the car to someone at a very, very cheap price with the option of the took kit, workshop manual and covers (outdoor and soft indoor) for a extra few quid. He wasn't bothered about the tool kit and his words were "You may as well sell it to someone with a show car to make it complete". So it wasn't as if I sneakily whipped it away when he wasn't looking. The buyer got the cheap Elan he wanted, I got to recoup a bit more money on the sale and hopefully someone with a nice car (but missing a tool kit) will be able to complete it for sensible money.... Hopefully making everyone happy.

Ah, really sorry I missed that thread. I had a good look in the "Elan parts wanted" section before posting, but didn't spot it in the "other items wanted" part.
