Thanks Bern. I've read up on it and tried moving the actuator rod with long-nosed pliers but it won't budge (or I'm doing it wrong) so i think the heatshield etc will need to be removed. I don't like to take things apart in case I can't get it back together again! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've got no boost at all!

I've just nipped up to the chip shop in the Elan and I'm glad to see the council have gritted so I'm not so worried about leaving in the morning now. I go Devizes - Trowbridge -Shepton. Not the quickest according to google but it's the way I know.

'Long nosed pliers technique' is hard work and inconclusive. Saw your problems so posted a method using a pump which is much easier ---- easy wastegate function check

Actually managed to get along to this for an hour at Lunchtime. Sorry to have missed you guys. I did a bit of hovering, but having been around the show was finding it a bit cold! I guess the Cortina MkII club and Gilbern Club probably did better, but your line up of four M100s was one of the more impressive displays there I thought. Sorry that the Esprit just behind was taking all the punters attention

Excellent day - if about 20 degrees cooler than any of us would have liked. And I was particularly impressed that we arrived in convoy, in style, with roofs DOWN. As is only right and proper.

By the way, Bern, your dad was right. I had intermittent headlight problems on the way home. Have just spent a chilly half an hour out in the garage and traced it to a loose earth connection on the LHS dip feed. I will fix it properly when I do a headlamp rebuild at some stage, but for now I've just gently compressed the connector and refitted it on the terminal. Couldn't get the headlamp fixing screws out, so was reduced to scrabbling around left-handed underneath the headlamp itself. All well now though - for the moment
