Whats the deal with camping on site? I've looked on Castle Combe and CL websites but cant see any details. I am hoping to arrive on the Friday and leave Sunday morning. I've booked another campsite to fill the rest of the week on the way back up. I'll need to book elsewhere ASAP if it isnt possible at the track.

The bit that Pinky mentions above is the "yellow" bit on the CC circuit map here. Although there is usually an open route through to it from the paddock not just from its own gate on the road. But you mustn't park up in the Blue bit...

They say - "Camping available for certain events - please call 01249 782417".

You could do that if you like knowing, or you could just pitch up and use the yellow area with any others there and only worry about it later if anyone says anything....

I believe that there are other official camping sites fairly close by (<10 mins) if you want proper facilities.

Do you guys (and girls ) track your cars at CC or just watch and do a bit of tyre kicking and banter ?

Is it just a one day thing or do people go down on the Friday and camp, curry, beers etc... ?

Long way for me to make the pilgrimage but, you never know, one day there could be representation from north of the border

As this is looking like it could become a bigger event than we have had for a few years, I have sent a message to ascertain what facilities are going to be availlable for anyone wishing to 'stop over' (Toilet blocks etc) and also where 'campers' can set up home.
Once I have a reply, I can start a list to see if anyone is interested in making a weekend of it

I, for one, would certainly be interested. See if you can find something like I did at Malvern all those years ago. A pub with camping next door. I think a good (hangover) time was had by all

I have had an email back from CL regarding the camping query.... Jane has passed the buck as she doesn't know the answers, so i will be making enquiries direct with the circuit - watch this space.

I can't find a pub with a campsite within a suitable distance, but there is a campsite near Melksham (5-10 mins walk into town) which is a 10 minute drive from the circuit...

Plough Lane campsite (Kington Langley, Chippenham) seems to get a good write up. No idea of geography though but walking distance to food and sherberts

13 mins (6 miles) from campsite to circuit. Obviously a bit less for us

A campsite sounds good. We are traveling down on the Friday so need to get something booked if the track can't accommodate us. I have booked at Cheltenham race course for the Sat night but this can be cancelled...

Last visited that pub a couple of years ago, but it was fine then. If all else fails, try the alternative campsite at http://www.burtonhill.co.uk/; 5 minutes walk from Waitrose, Co-Op and several pubs in Malmesbury, and 20 minutes from the circuit.

Just found out that it's a Bank Holiday w/e FFS so likely to be busy
