I'm working in Leeds all week, and driving back down to Malmesbury (home) on Friday evening, so Fridays probably a non-starter for me - unlikely to be home much befor 21:00. Free Saturday apart from dog walking

I'm easy on when and where we have a curry and I'll go with the flow. Just thought it was worth thinking about, particularly as it's a BH w/e and we'd be best to book a table

So, pub grub or curry, I'm easy. Just as long as it's not a curry both nights

I can't make Friday night but would definitely be happy to stay for the evening/meal on Saturday.
I rarely do Indian curries these days & with a 50+ mile cycle ride the following morning, it would suit me if you did the curry on Friday night.

I was going to come along to this one but had to go to ausland down under today and wont be back until late Saturday night, and the weather looks like its going to be good to

I'll be driving down Sat am. Grace didn't want to drive the camper van down on Friday whilst I had fun in the Elan and she missed out.....!!
So we may stay for curry on Sat pm if not too late. The event tends to wind down by 5pm, so it'll be 2hr wait before we eat?
Anyone going home via Malvern very welcome to drop in for a drink.....

Excellent By the way, I will NOT be bringing the dog for a curry. So far this week he's consumed part of a birthday cake, a neighbour's frozen chicken pie, and several bananas - skins and all - discarded by the girls at the local stables. And I do feed him - honest.

For me the biggest decision is not whether it's curry on Fri or Sat or pints and grub in the Smoking Dug but which car to bring

Does anyone have a paper workshop manual i can leave with my garage ?
I know this is a bit of an ask , and can only assume that it will be well looked after ,
but if you have a used one that would be helpful .

When you say a paper WM, would you accept a printed out full version of the pdf. electronic stuff - all nicely kept in ring binders?

I was extremely bored one night when on night shift so just loaded up the printer with a gazillion sheets of A4 and hit the 'print' button.

As such, i have a 'hard' copy of all the manuals which were intended for 'oily garage' duty - then never used them as I just loaded the electric versions on an old laptop which i use in the garage (as it has all the VW and Vauxhall software on it as well).

My CEL came on the other day and I was hoping someone might be able to look at my car, but it's since come on twice more and I've now done a paper clip test. About 10-15 mins after first starting, on the first two occasions it lit for no more than a few seconds, but yesterday stayed on for a few minutes and went into limp home mode. I had a lovely drive around the Cotswolds and stopped a few times with no more issues. Anyway I'm getting code 41 (CAS/HES), I've done my research on here, so I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help!

I have the brit-car-nut PDF organised onto a CD which I give to my mechanic as and when if that would help. I'm away from home at present, but I could burn you one for Saturday if you want. Can't email the IOS file - it's too big

It is more the visual paper version rather than a computer based version . So if at al possible Mr pink i will take you up on one of those options . Preferably the oily garage version .

Unfortunately, my spare complete CAS was left with Ian Till at Brands Hatch.

I do have a HES somewhere, but have never changed one - I can dig it out and bring it along if required. (assuming someone who understands electric bits is able to assist - Geoff )

Can bring a gas soldering iron if wires need splicing.

I'm happy to order a HES if someone can fit it for me. I would be very grateful! It's beyond my capabilities but if I can avoid taking it to my Lotus specialist (for the third time this year!) that would be great!

Double bugger with sod it sauce.

Fixed driver's window today - almost. Took the Elan for a spin and the battery light has come on. Suspect my new alternator has given up the ghost. Can I get my old one refurbished and fitted before Friday? Er, no.

I'll just have to come in the 'other' car and hope I can get a lift to and from campsite.
