LEC International M100 Weekend

15th-17th Sept 2017 – Buxton, Derbyshire.

Following on from the inaugural LEC International M100 Weekend in the beautiful English spa town of Buxton.
We'd like to announce the second running of the event.

Buxton is one of most popular tourist destinations in the Peak District famed for its natural spring water and Georgian architecture. The town's rich history features Roman settlers, royal prisoners, outlaws and noble benefactors.

The town's magnificent architecture also includes The Pavilion Gardens, 23 acres of award winning ornamental gardens including serpentine walkways, children's play areas, lake and a miniature railway. There is a historic Winter Gardens linking the Opera House with the main complex.

The University of Derby's Buxton campus is set under the Devonshire Dome which is the largest unsupported dome in the country with a diameter of 174ft and open to visitors.

The event will start on the Friday evening with a leisurely curry in convivial surroundings with adequate time allocated for those who require a little more rehydration.

Saturday will also be a gentle start with a mid/late morning rendezvous, where route maps will be given out (Tulip Maps) and the exploration of the Peak starts.

There is no time limit on the route, the idea being that you lake a leisurely drive out and enjoy the scenery and possibly a pub lunch should you so wish.

On your return you will be able to partake in high tea if you wish…..or just an ice cream on the promenade…….not forgetting to leave enough time to spruce yourselves up for the grand finale dinner on the Saturday night.

Sunday being the day of rest is there to give you a lie in…..maybe grab a late breakfast, early lunch……or if you’ve arranged a farewell coffee with new or old friends……before heading off in your own directions.

I was holding to a later date. but assuming i got the elan on the road (which if everything goes to plan will be happening in the next 2 weeks) Im likely to turn up.
I Suspect John will be there this year again based on a comment he made on my project post. link but im sure he will turn up to confirm that

Lucky you - my brother lives in Vancouver and they have a very active classic car scene. I've been to several events: great weather, friendly people and a surprising number of British cars. Have a great trip

My brother in law is in the Vancouver "Hall of Fame" An ex racing driver with about 20 cars in his warehouse including the ex Indianapolis 500 car (Old Bess) that raced against Jim Clark when he won there back in 1965

I'd love to be there, but will be trundling down the Rhine (well at the side of it anyway) with a few other Lotus on a European trip.

Car's in for MOT now. will find out what kind of headache (aka "lots of trouble") i got coming.
i suspect the handbrake may be re-calibrating. and since the car has been parked for nearly 2 months, emmissions may be another problem. but apart from that. nothing else that looks wrogn with it (execpt for paint, interior quality etc etc)

i was surprised with the low attendance last year, also surprised no one else put their name down yet.

as a side note. did you update the instructions to take into account any blocked roads ?
last year there was a blocked road that if i wasnt following John i would have aborted the run.

I know at least 2 L-drivers who is going to attend this event. 2 families are looking for the big cottage like this we had in Torrevieja last fall
