But apart from that (and a few paint chips and those red door cards) it looks quite nice. No shots of the engine bay or underneath, however.

I'm obviously not a "LOTUS ENTHUSIAST" then either ....
The worrying thing is the seller is registered as a Business and his feedback As a Seller shows he sells cars ...

Yep - every Lotus Enthusiast who has bolted a turbo onto an NA has always removed the perspex....... I think it is mandatory.

I knew there was something else needed, just couldn't remember ... so that's how you reduce the compression ratio ...

holy crap, I was thinking of putting the yellow peril up for sale but I think I'm a little too scared to say anything in the advert for fear of being flamed after those last few posts

You'll be fine Rob, just as long as you don't mention the ABS, PAS, OEM sat nav, tiptronic gear control, rear perspex cover removed....
First to see will buy. No test pilots or pretend Lewis Hamilton drivers

Not flaming ... just I have an intense dislike of bullshit... particularly if it's from people who trade in cars pretending it's their own pride and joy and know what they are talking about...
Advertising Standards Authority had the motto "Legal, decent, honest, truthful" ... comply with that and you won't hear a peep out of me ...

And that's a pity, as a sufficiently wide-angle shot of the engine bay would be enough to verify whether it really is a non-PAS model.

This was the first Elan I ever owned. The history file with this car is unbelievable. It was me that done the seat retrim and about £2k worth of other work.

Then you can probably answer the questions: Is it a real NA? Does it have power steering?
Any other remarkable details the seller wasn't even aware of?

Think you're at cross purposes John. Different cars. I know those Collapso Red ones look all the same ...

One is an NA where you just add a turbo and it's an SE, the other is a chipped SE, which was Gee21's..

It is an N/A ..
I wrote to him on day one of the listing to tell him how it was not an easy conversion . I also mentioned that he should br pleased to have a limited edition non PAS NA ... less than 37 made .
He did reply thanking me for the email and said he would ament the advert to reflect .
Seemed a pleasant enough chap .
Jim Clark S2 - 1/12. The one with the Yellow spoke wheels . No 613 on dash (pushed in to factory in wrong order 615 on tub)

There is (unless it's been written off) a 'P" reg BRG SE (and I do mean an SE, not an S2) kicking about somewhere.
