Would an Elise steering wheel fit ?

Wouldn't it make the stearing a bit heavy?

Mine has the nardi and it's quite heavy.

I think it will but you will need to fit a boss or a adapter kit I am sure someone here has fitted one to a Elan?

I have done it to both of mine - just use the boss from the elan wheel with the Elise wheel - quite straightforward to do.

It is about half an inch narrower than the elan wheel, but far better to hold due to thicker rim.

It does obstruct the instruments a tad more, but soon get used to it.

(and from all the posts on here, it is far more rare than a Nardi - so must be worth at least a grand........ well, that logic seems to work with S2 wheels)

So what is so different about a Nardi wheel vs OEM ? And what's so special ? And why does it justify a £450 price tag when it does virtually the same as mine ie turn he wheels in the direction you want ?

Never been unhappy with OE steering wheels other than they obstruct some instruments and anything smaller would be worse.
Nardi wheel was a £55 option on the S2, which was a marketing exercise 'par excellence'... Anybody paying £450 for one must be absolutely 'king bonkers!

I have to say, I bought it for the looks, but was astounded by the difference it made when cornering. Everything feels much more precise. But then again, I got mine second hand in as new condition from a fellow LEC member for much, much less than the prices quoted here!

But as you have since found out worth every penny, as every corner you know go around is enhanced in every way. Sounds like one of the best modifications you could possibly make !!

If lotus could charge extra for tyres they would . Its not really about better its about ££££.

A stereo wasn't fitted as standard and it still isn't to this day . Its all about the options that are extra.
