I've only just seen this as it all happened while I was on holiday. In the faint hope that Geoff might find more than 12 when he checks in the loft or the even fainter possibility that somebody drops out, I've put my name on at the bottom

Evening, All.
I've tried to contact Geoff several times to see what is happening with the protectors, but to no avail. Does anyone know what's happening?
Many thanks,
Dom

And I'm back. But I'm off again next week… but only for 6 weeks.
In the meantime, I've managed to extricate some from Merv's hyper-sticky masking tape and have found a suitable container to (hopefully) protect them from Postman Pat's delicate mitts. First two UK names from the list to volunteer can have them - all I would ask is that you're in a position to fix them relatively quickly as it would be good to know they're still good before I extricate the rest.

Bother - we had two full-scale power failures yesterday, so I missed this. Hopefully the others will be in a good condition when disinterred.
SSE have told us they don’t know what’s causing the power in our close to trip and they say it’s likely to happen again at any time - or maybe not for five years or so. Lotusflasherman, are you doing any consultancy work- I think they need you

I do like a good hard luck story so you'd better e-mail me your address Jonathan and I'll send you the spare one.
I've got Dave's and Dom's addresses and you can all settle up if they're still usable.

Better than one Christmas day several years ago when we had about 150V. We gave up warming the turkey until they got a generator hooked up and we ate very late that year. One disadvantage of living in the sticks, although they have just strung some fibre down the road so I might upgrade and increase my upload speed from 0.25Mbps to something sensible.
