Dom wrote:I got busy today. I removed Jamie's seal, which was the work of moments. Then I undid all the screws that hold the metal receiver to the a pillar. They were not rusty and came out easily, but the top one was without its head. This meant the receiver was not sitting down fully at the top, which certainly won't have helped. Next I cleaned everything up, applied sealant to the receiver and refitted it. I made sure the header rail was spotless and applied more sealant to any gaps. Finally I reapplied Jamie's seal. The job looks neat and things are certainly better finished than they were. Now to see if it's watertight! The offside is, so if I've succeeded, I'll have a dry Elan. Magic!
