New guy here

Postby Andrew D » Mon 30.10.2017, 08:42

Hi,
I’m new to the forum. Recently bought an SE which I’m thrilled with however............there are problems with the drivers (RHD) window lift and seals. Any advice available?
Thanks,
Andrew D.

Welcome.
I don't have the answer but you would be better off asking this in an appropriate forum where it can be more easily found by anyone a) with a similar issue b) who has a solution available or 3) who may have a spare part which would be useful.

If I had a problem with my windows, I would not start by looking through the new members section.

To be slightly more helpful (get up the wrong side of the bed Ian?) try posting this in the relevant section of THIS forum or indeed searching the forum for window issues. I expect there are several posts which will help. Alternatively a moderator may move your post to the correct area of the forum.

Having said that welcome to LEC: it is a friendly site, with much useful help and knowledge: there aren't many issues not covered somewhere. Start by reading the WikiLEC (tab at top) section which hosts many good tips and info. Check out your local area meetings too: also located somewhere on here.

And all newbies are absolutely totally completely obliged to post photos of their pride and joy!!!!!! :D :D (your car that is!) Look forward to seeing them.

Welcome Andrew. I'm not far from you so shout up if you need help and advice.

I've split your post from the other new member's topic, and relocated it so that Iain can take off his grumpy hat and get back in his box.

I didn't intend to be grumpy.
Maybe I should suspend myself for a couple of days? :-D

Get it in a watertight and dry garage over Winter or a cover of any sort, leaking Elans rot from the inside out, check the "outriggers", plenty on here about them.

Welcome aboard the board Andrew. ;-)

Welcome to LEC!

For your window question, you can look at Specky's write-up: http://www.lotusm100.com/manuals/Window ... 0Guide.pdf

It starts with a fault chart and then has the step by step guide to disassemble and reassemble the door components.

It originally had a few videos but the storage he used changed their policy and they are no longer available. I had grabbed the pictures, so they are in the PDF, but never grabbed the videos.

I hope this helps you fix your problem.

You could also post your specific problem and symptoms and someone will probably jump in and make some suggestions.

Thank's for all the advice and comments.
Fortunately I'm in touch with a local garage I have known for years and they look after two other M100's for another local owner.
As requested, I'm attaching some photos. The maroon Daimler in the background of one of the shots is my SP250 (Dart).
