Swapping seats around?

My seats are in pretty good condition other than the outsides of both seat bottoms that have been softened by getting in and out the car. I was thinking maybe it’s possible to switch driver and passenger seats around so the better inside bolster is now on the outside, the inside being held up by the center console. Hope you’re following

Obviously the seatbelt socket and seat back adjuster are then on the wrong sides but are the seats different? Is it possible to move the adjuster and belt anchor to the other side of the seat?

If the garage was warmer i’d just whip out a seat and try it but does anyone knows if it can be done?

Yes, I got my garage to do this in my old Collapso Red. The only real thing you need to factor in are that the metal seat protectors will be on the wrong side. Removal on to the new side leaves an indentation and a few holes in the leather. When I did this at c75k miles the passenger seat, leather and bolsters were like new and much more comfortable

Thanks Rambo. I won’t have that problem as for some reason there are no seat protectors and not obvious there were ever any. A good thing now I guess

Just need a few good days to get that done. Mentally preparing for Spring already!

I don't think it is that simple.

At least the sliders and the seat belt mounts will need swapping over. Also the winder for the back will be on the wrong side as will the trim around it.

It is half of the job of fitting seat heaters..

This is actually a simple job having done it myself. Remove both seats, remove each seat squab from the frame, re-attach the squabs to the other frame... job done!

You can carry out any repairs to the foam whilst off and as SimonP says add heating pads, although this does significantly increase the difficulty as the foam and leather need to be detached/attached from/to each other.
Pretty easy job with a minimum level of skills required.
