Locks - not locking

Postby bbjon » Wed 18.04.2018, 08:47

Hi all - I've got an odd lock problem - it seems the opposite to things that most of the posts I've seen. Ok

The locks work fine using the buttons in the door - they open and close as they should

The locks don't work with the key - turning the key in either the passenger or drivers lock results in nothing - there isn't any resistance behind the key at all stop to stop

Before I start stripping the doors down again - is this a problem anyone recognises?

Jon,
I saw in another post that you've recently had a respray, did the sprayers take the key locks off?
If so, they could have forgotten to reconnect them - the rods clip into a small nylon fitting - A100B6037F item 5 on page 10.17a of the parts book, available from SJ if they got lost or damaged like one of mine was.
The good(ish) news is you don't have to take the glass out to reconnect them.

Hi Ron - I'll check it out - I was sure I'd locked the car since getting it back but maybe not. Preparing to hit face with palm!

Rodded now and repaired.
