Creaky Doors

Hi, does anyone have creaky doors? there seems to be quite a bit of movement from the doors when they are closed causing a really annoying creaking rattling noise, Ive tried adjusting the catches in further towards the body but it just throws the line of the door out without stopping the rattle. It does look like the bar that the catch locks over is worn and the diameter is definitely smaller than what it should be so Im wondering whether this could be the cause - is there any way of rectifying this or is it a case of trying to get new catches? Despite my niggles it was still a nice drive into work today!!

The door strikers are symmetrical, so you could remove it and turn it around so the other bar is now doing the work. At least an easy way to see if that is the problem or not.

If the striker is worn, the latch is probably worn, so if swapping it helps, be sure to lube the latch where it grabs the bar.

Also, if the door closing starts with a loud "snap", lube both top and bottom sides of the forward "check strap"

That's CHECK STRAP:

It is the piece at the front of the door that limits how far the door can open and when fully opened, holds it there.
