Hood looks a tad slack, seats don't look too great, wrong wheels......
Wouldn't think it is worth the price he wants (and that's being kind) - it might upset him, but turn up with 2 bags of sand and see how much he wants to get rid of it.....
Have messaged 3 times now asking to view and no reply . Oh well looks like i won't be getting another NA

Rare white one for sale - seems like an honest advert. Anybody know what the car in the rear of the garage is ? Can't see on my phone......

Seems like a fair price (or even a bit cheap!) - but I'm always a bit sceptical about people who are selling on behalf of a familly member (3 cars listed).....
..... and I think that the car in the rear of the garage could be a Lancia or Fiat - not sure though.

I'd say it was a Colt (before they re-branded to Mitsubishi in the UK), can't remember which model though!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-J-Lotus ... 1438.l9372A shame that no one has enjoyed this car for at least 11 years, I wonder what would need work after all this time.
A few years ago I went to see one that had been stored outside under a tarp for 10 years or so, realised that the tinworm could affect them after seeing that one.

Everything!, and then some

, I wouldn't fancy taking that project on, I always find you can quite reliably
guage the condition of the underside of a motor going by the condition of all the small bolts in the engine bay,
and looking at that one I bet its got more crust than a truckload of Hovis

.

Just think, all of 10 minutes spent on a quick wash & shampoo and NOT on the back of a breakdown truck would make it look ten times better !!
Amazes me how people try and sell cars !!

Morning all,
Just joined, long story short, now lotus-less and looking for something a little different, a mini project. Currently have a 72" elan +2 and previously owned an Elise 111s and an Exige S220, love the brand!
Went to see both these cars on Friday night
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-J-Lotus ... 1438.l9372The barn find is rotten underneath, body was alright though. Needs a lot of money throwing at it
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lotus-Elan-1 ... Sw9mFbIYQeThis one, body work is shot, lacquer peeling on all panels, as are all the seals, roof has tears (mentioned in ad), misfires and struggles to start. Worth noting the guy(s) selling it are frustrating to say the least. 40 mins late to their garage, blocked our numbers, only our stubbornness and luck got us a viewing really! We were deciding which pub to have a drink at for a while when he turned up. Awful attitude towards selling cars
The hunt continues...

Hi, I have been a silent stalker on here for quite a while now, I was going to buy a Elan s2 about 2 years ago but ended up buying a Landrover defender 90 instead (easy mistake to make!) but the draw of the elan SE is too much, so staring to look again. Does anybody know anything about this auction, good, bad, death trap or gift from the gods? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Chip ,
Welcome to LEC and thank you for posting your finds.
I hope you find what you are looking for . Both cars highlighted look like they need plenty of work doing ( and money throwing at them) for sure. Whilst it is rewarding to bring a car back from the brink sometimes is better to add a bit more to the budget . Add another £1500 to that price and it will save you more than twice in the long run.
All the best .
Clemo
