I'll be there with an M100. Hope to lead a ride to "b.a. Sweetie Candy Company" and hold an M100 breakfast meeting.

This event normally has 150 or so Lotus cars and 300 - 400 people. Hope to see some of you there.

This year, i'm driving the Elan Sprint there over a 2 day scenic drive from Philly. I'm leaving the M100 home this year.
Chris, make sure to say hello as we've communicated often via email, but i'm forgetting the face!

I will be there with my latest, a Norfolk Yellow M100 just recently purchased on BaT. I just picked it up in Aurora CO, and we are trailering it home. Unfortunately, it is not yet licensed so it will have to stay on the trailer in Cleveland.

Nice turnout of cars including M100's. I saw silver! red, yellow, green and white. I managed 2nd place, yea! Tough to count. Maybe 9 M100s. One did the Drivers Education Event (track day). I did the $20 lunchtime laps which were fantastic.

I kept my M100 at home this year and took my vintage Elan Sprint to the show driving 2 days on back roads.

I only saw the silver M100 briefly in the parking lot.

There was a good turnout of Elans and Europas. I had wanted to take my Seven but it needs a bunch of work.

I didn't get around to organizing a ride to ba Sweeties for candy though I did do a trial run and bought $60 of things I should eat. I also reneged on my promise to host a breakfast meeting for M100's. Too much going on.

I had a good drive except my AC wasn't working. One of the headlight lifts and the muffler died on the way. Both fixed. I drove through some flooding in PA. It took a while to dry out the electrical system. Also found a loose wire. Hopefully the AC will be fixed up this week.

it was good to see you and your Elan at LOG. Not trying to embarass you specifically, but rather trying to make a point concerning maintenance and road worthiness and preparedness. All those issues happening to your Elan should have been noted and taken care of previous to your road trip. Excursions in the Lotus are NOT the convenient times to road test your car or discover all the overlooked maintenance issues. Seems to me that things like A/C, head light pods, and muffler connections should be found before taking to the road. Now i must admit, that even I had the unexpected happen to my A/C coming home from LOG in Birmingham when it suddenly, the compressor seized up. I'm not trying to diss you here, but am very sympathetic to an extent. My montra here is that we as classic car owners must DRIVE our cars quite regularly in order to stay on top of those little nagging maintenance issues so as not to be caught with multiple maladies along the way. Our road trips should be made with confidence and the knowledge that we maintain our cars anticipating their weaknesses and not getting caught with our pants down. it can make for a miserable trip, however i'm grateful you made it home. Our Lotus, and especially our M100 Elans, are VERY reliable and dependable. I wouldn't hesistate driving mine across the country and back without any fear or apprehension. We just can't save our cars in long term storage, uncover them, and expect them to perform flawlessly, however our Elans can measure up and come through.

Bottom line: DRIVE YOUR ELAN REGULARLY

I agree with diving it on a regular basis to keep it up to snuff. This is my low mileage M100. It had been sitting for 2 years, since LOG 36. I used the LOG trip as a shakedown for a one month trip to the west coast. That was cut short in Illinois due to a head gasket failure.

Since my purchase of it 3 years ago it has received: windshield, muffler, belts, hoses, water pump, belt tensioner, battery, 2 window lifts, 2 headlight lifts, fuzzy weather striping, window scrapers, floor mats, door escutcheons, tires, wheels, front brake pads (the good kind Padget), brake fluid flush, radiator flush and shifter cables. Maybe a bit more.

Hope to see you at LOG 39 in Massachusetts. I want to take my 1963 Elite and show it off. It should be pretty much finished by then. It may not have a repaint by then. I'm receiving estimates in the $15-25K range.

I just authorized another payment for the Elite's restoration. The interior is painted. The shop will soon be wrapping up the mechanical work and putting in the interior.

I am using Ragtops & Roadsters / Pollock Automotive Restoration in PA. They did the aluminum work on my Seven making some dents and extraneous holes disappear.
