Having re-read this I think we need 3 groups on the list ..

LEC M100's using LEC 20 allocated spaces.

LEC M100 owners who have got tickets from other sources and would like to be in LEC area

LEC members who are coming in another model of Lotus, tickets from other sources, and will be parked elsewhere..

Not trying to exclude anybody, just add a bit of clarity ..

* Please note: I live 40 miles from Hethel and have a large back lawn. Anybody who can't find accommodation, decides to come at the last minute, or is strapped for cash is welcome to pitch a tent on my back lawn. Toilet & shower in the house, along with tea & coffee in the kitchen and I might even stretch to providing beer and wine.... oh -- also have a gas BBQ if you want to cook anything. for the record to the mods/admins my plan (if you can consider it a "plan") at the moment is to get up at 5-6am and set off from walsall to hethel saturday morning and return at the end of the day, i will be on my own (unless some miracle happens in my social life), so only 1 ticket "needed".
because of my specific situation, i am not going to know if i can make it till the last moment.
if theres more LEC members interested than tickets/spaces available, im happy to leave that spot to someone else who is sure of their presence at the event.

Lets all calm down a bit - before anyone gets really upset.

THERE IS ONLY ONE LIST (at this stage). That list is simply people who have expressed a wish/intention of being there, and to inform others of where they are staying, if they already have a ticket etc etc.

Clearly, a decision needs to be made on allocation of tickets/spaces on the LEC stand/anything else appropriate - and I have no intention of precluding anyone. This especially applies to the likes of RonR & Rip who have made it known that they have got/are getting tickets from elsewhere, but will still be attending. Whilst they don't require (if everything goes well) an 'entry ticket', they are still just as entitled to park on the LEC spot as anyone else here.

Just to try to clear up any missunderstanding/doubt......

"We" will be getting 20 tickets, each of which will allow entry for 1 Lotus, and up to 2 people TO THE FACTORY SITE. - these will be allocated (but it isn't really my decision to make, so it will be a bit of a consultation excersise between Trevor and anyone else who wants to put their oar in once he gets the tickets) to LEC members, and in all probability, there will be enough to go round, and they will go to the top 20 names on the list who haven't indicated that they are already sorted. If for any reason, we are short of a ticket, then I'll leave my car at Dunston Hall and climb into the tiny rear seats of Spuds Evora (or wherever else I can hide) to get into the site - I don't really have any expectations of having a ticket in preference to someone else who is equally entitled.

Once in the site, (we are currently led to believe) there is 'general' Lotus parking, and then there is the 'Club' area near the main entrance - we will find out exactly where in due course. We are told that the 'Club' area will give us a marquee (dunno what size!) and space to display 20 cars. Now, as a M100 Elan is a bit smaller than an Esprit/Evora but bigger than a baby Elan, I can only assume that either (a) Bibs will be measuring out exact sizes OR (b) We'll get a roughly paced out bit of grass to do with as we like - - I'm expecting it to be option (b)

Once we know what we have, a decision can be made as to whether everyone from LEC will be able to park there, whether we want to have a more spread-out display, if we want one of every colour etc etc - that is a decision far above my pay grade ('coz I don't get paid for all this sh1t), and I'm NOT actually trying to be in charge of all this (pass me a Vallium, please).

I have a rough idea of what TLF are planning for their display (and that is attracting all sorts of support & critisism in equal measures from their membership!!!). I have no idea what CL etc are doing on their turf (but as a member of both clubs, I am allowed to complain about it ) - do we want a 'car park' or do we want a 'display'??

Personally, I'm of the opinion that anyone who drives their car is worthy of having it for others to see - and I don't care what it looks like as long as you enjoy it. Even the roughest car brings pleasure to the owner, and inspiration to others.

(That said, I'd be a little upset if Trevor didn't want to put his car 'front & centre' as an example to what can be achieved - not to say that anyone else hasn't got a great car, as there are plenty that i haven't seen and would love to see (ie, the one up in the Midlands which has had a lot of good detailing done to it).)

... so I will be leaving it down to those with a more artistic eye to sort out the floorplan while I put the kettle on, have a fag and sort out anything that needs my help on the day.

Dave I will have a spare seat so no need to hide in the back of a poor man's Elan if you want a lift. That said it goes for anyone else if they are looking for an additional seat I'm happy to give someone a lift.

All the tickets will come from Bibs I'm just getting mine in a different envelope.
This means more than 20 tickets will go to the LEC.
As I'm in the first 20, I will be very disappointed not to get to park in the LEC area
Just because I went out of my way to get a ticket.

I've booked into the Norwich Hotel, near train station half miles from city centre through booking.com. was £130 x 2 nites B&B but rates gone up now.

As I'm in an Elise I'll be parking with the other 6980 RWD trash and leave you lot to argue over the 20 slots. As for a curry night though i'm defo up for that . Pity Dico, Rambo, and Chunder King aren't coming .

This is getting quite amusing now! I don’t know what the bickering is for! It all seems to be quite organised so far and there’s still four weeks for further organisation. Maybe it will get moved to the ‘Upcoming Events’ section, but either way we’ve been promised separate sections where people can express their interest in some of the ideas mentioned above, such as: Who's got a space on the LEC stand; Who’s got a ticket direct but hopes to squeeze onto the stand; Who’s going to Dunston Hall Friday night; Who wants to go for a meal Saturday night; Who wants to see Dave squeeze in the back of an Evora....

Unfortunately I had already booked a week in Greece so will miss the banter, beers, curry, convoy from Scotland. I missed the 60th too and even had a ticket and accommodation sorted (things seemed a lot simpler back then )
