Re MINI wheels, I'm pretty sure Muley fitted the "minilite" style ones to an Elan .

Scott - definitely worth having a look at the cream coloured Mini that Jamie has, it is really stands out how clean and straight it is. Even when it is covered in dust from the rubber seal factory it has always caught my eye when I have been there

As the thread has already been well and truly hijacked I feel a little less bad about this slight diversion -
The section of front trim you have in the first pics with the new fogs and honeycomb in... is it plastic or fiberglass? I know we've got some plastic around the bumper sections but I'm not sure which bits are what.

Interesting, but I am more interested in the K20 swap - I saw one stuck in the back of an Elise a couple of days ago and it certainly looked fine to me.

The Isuzu drivetrain in my Elan will (possibly/probably/inevitabily) die sometime in the future and being a fan of Honda drivetrains I wonder if anyone has actually done a K20 (or similar) swap into an Elan?

I have read a fair amount about the possibility but have yet to see a real, complete and fully functional swap, assuming one actually exists (90% finished does not count as fully functional ).

I mention this because access to Honda engines here is the easiest thing in the world whereas getting my hands on an a good Isuzu engine could be a bit of a task - once I kill the nice Isuzu engine currently snoozing away in my car.

So - has anyone actually done such a thing?

I have taken 2 Isuzu engines in M100's to well over 100k (115k and currently 126k and counting) miles without any head problems or major rebuilds. In fact no minor rebuilds providing they are serviced as per schedules. I have known one M100 owner who was at 235k miles at the last count

I'd say they were virtually bombproof - if maintained correctly

I am very rude to my engines and they often respond in kind so I am planning for the future.

Just wondering if a K20 swap or similar is real or just the usual nonsense that some people dream of but rarely achieve.
