Trevor's car looks great, I am sure it has a good brake and doesn't need cancelling.
I just hope he has a good holiday!

He just copied and pasted it - instead of using the quote option.

For those scratching their heads, the "quote" option grabs all of the formatting,

Anyone that has done a bit of HTML coding knows this, but those that don't can be just as clever if thy learn this little trick...

You can use the quote link at the top right and then remove the HTML tags: (quote="poster's ID") and (/quote) -- I had to change [ ] to ( ) because characters between the brackets are not shown

Roy,

Never say never..... there is every chance that you'll get a ticket [due to the way that the list is (dis)organised].... or at the very least, a ride into the event with another member.

As the astute will have noticed, I have managed to cajole a man with much higher forum access than I enjoy (cheers, Martin) to set up a new forum top-level entry in the Events UK section for the Hethel event.

This means that we can now add new topics to the weekend to cover different things and keep things seperate, but together (oxymoron, but never mind).

I'm a bit busy today, but hopefully this evening I will be able to get a bit of a handle on the whole thing and make it look a bit more presentable.

In the meantime, please bear with me and the single(ish) topic which is confusing to some.......
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

i was counting the members who got a ticket by lotus70 and theres 6 of them. effectively reducing the list to 21 beggars
also, one of the previous members mentioned he will be in a campervan, so, technically thats another car that can go in, (although 1 less head/person ticket)
so theres a pretty good chanse you will get a ticket

reason why i previously asked about the grass patch and parking arrangements (which are not decided yet) is mainly the fact that it looks like we have far more cars then the 20 originally planned/allocated by the TFL crowd

Ah, but many of the people on the list (who got tickets from lotus70) will be drivibg Evoras/Elises or something else - so won't be getting a parking space on our bit of grass

Ive added in bold to highlight which car and where people are getting their tickets.
i like the idea of color coding
red for the car being used
blue for the place of stay
green if sourced ticket already

with the Mods blessing i will rewrite the list in a easier to follow format with any notes in black at the end of each line.
i dont think the forum html coding allows for tabbing, but its something worth trying when rewriting the list.

:wtf: I take it you're colour blind Tuga ? Or I have been for the last 63+ years and didn't know it !!

Looks like red for the place of stay and blue for tickets. And I can't see any green ie Scott J at 6. should be in green as he got his ticket direct from Lotus 70

I'm confused and I'm not even going

my suggestion of color coding is not related to the currently used colors.
in fact if you pay close attention the current color coding is not consistent anyway

i was thinkign of rewritting the whole list in a easier way to glance and gather the inforamtion required for whoever is organising this.

Oi! - what is wrong with the colour coding I started? (which i only did to make it easier for me to keep an eye on as things progressed (changed?). [/banter]

On a serious note, now that things are getting more clear, i will be splitting the whole lot into seperate threads for things like tickets/parking on the LEC stand etc - and leave this as a general 'I'm interested/attending' list.

(and I'll even put Peter back on the list as Mark has chucked him off!!!!)

It's perfectly clear in my head..... and hopefully Trevors.......

...... all I know is that I've definately got an M100 (with tax, insurance, MOT and ready-to-go) - so I'm better off than some on the list

...... I have a hotel booked for 2 nights - so I'm better off than some on the list

...... I haven't got to worry about time off work, and Angie is happy for me to go - so I'm better off than some on the list

...... I don't care if I get to put my car on the LEC stand, in the car park, or even leave it at Dunston Hall and get a passenger ride - so i'm better off than some on the list

...... so, I'm meeting Clemo (WHO HAS GOT AN M100 with tax, insurance and MOT) at the Leigh Delamere Services on Friday 28th - so we're both sorted!

(Oh, and if it all goes terribly wrong, I've got an emergency couple of phone numbers....no, not the RAC (even though I have), but Bibs and MJK  )

You'll have to wait another 10 years for the 80th so plenty of time to get either or both your cars ready :poke: :poke:

There's been a lotus festival every year since I owned my first Elan, I'm pretty sure there's been one a year for longer than that. But even if there's none next year, I'm sure I will have a chance to tag along to some other big event, like cc

Just in case anyone has set their own system to notify of new posts on this thread, but hasn't seen them already, there are 'new' lists for those who want tickets (or have already asked to get one from LEC), and those who would wish to park on the LEC club stand.....

.... both lists require some action on your part (to confirm that you are able to attend), and are time-sensitive in so much as I need to know by next week.

....so now is a good time to get your car MOT'd, taxed and insured (and hopefully running), book somewhere to stay, and get a route sorted.

..... or to sort out a passenger ride if your Elan is not going to be in attendance.
